Job Responsibilities:

Role Summary

The Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for system level cybersecurity engineering activities throughout the development lifecycle in compliance with ISO/SAE 21434.

This role focuses on risk analysis, security design, implementation, verification, and validation of embedded automotive systems.

The role involves close collaboration with Technical Project Lead as well as other discipline leads, to ensure development of system level security requirements as well as various work-products such as Security concept, vulnerability analysis etc. The System Security Engineer is also expected to guide the domain engineering teams to develop required Security work products and implement security mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities

System Security Engineering:

  • Threat Analysis & Risk Assessment: Perform TARA activities, Derive cybersecurity goals and requirements from risk assessments, Support risk evaluation and mitigation planning,
  • Compliance with Security standards (ISO21434): Prepare and maintain system level work products (e.g., security concept, cybersecurity case, reports etc.), Support audits and assessments for the Security scope
  • Security Requirements Engineering: Analyze and Define cybersecurity requirements at system level, support security requirements definition at hardware and software level
  • Support Secure Design & Implementation: support development of - secure architecture (e.g., secure boot, secure communication, encryption) in collaboration with system architect, Cybersecurity mechanisms in embedded software, Hardware security integration (HSM, TPM, etc.)
  • Support Verification & Validation: Support security testing such as penetration testing, fuzz testing, and vulnerability analysis. Development of test plans to validate security requirements, review and analyze test results and propose improvements
  • Support Incident & Vulnerability Handling: Support the activities related to - Field issues and security incidents, Vulnerability management and patch development, root cause analysis and corrective actions

Key Qualifications/Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field

Experience

  • 3–7 years of experience in embedded systems or software or cybersecurity
  • Familiarity with ISO/SAE 21434 concepts and processes
  • Knowledge of embedded C/C++, automotive communication (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
  • Understanding of basic cryptography and secure coding practices
  • Preferred: Experience with penetration testing or ethical hacking, Knowledge of AUTOSAR security concepts, familiarity with tools such as static/dynamic analysis, fuzzers
  • Preferred: Certifications (e.g., CEH, Security+, Automotive Cybersecurity)

Language

  • Comprehensive knowledge of English (verbal and written)
  • Japanese: Basic business Japanese to interact with Project team as required.

Travel

  • Travel domestic and international travel is required
