The opportunity
This role provides an opportunity to support D&A’s broader data maturity agenda by promoting consistent, confident, and compliant data practices through meaningful engagement with key data communities. It focuses on driving QSight adoption via collaborative community efforts, embedding standardised data practices across AUSPAC, and developing and executing a strategic data community engagement plan.
Your new role:
As a Data & AI Community Lead, you will be responsible for designing, delivering, and evolving strategic engagement initiatives that build strong, connected, and collaborative data communities across the AUSPAC division. This role is pivotal in uplifting data culture by driving meaningful engagement across Data & Analytics (D&A), federated business insights and reporting teams, data stewards, and business stakeholders working within our strategic data platform and ecosystem.
You will:
- Develop and implement a data & AI community engagement strategy aligned with broader D&A priorities, defining objectives, engagement streams, and success metrics in collaboration with SMEs and stakeholders.
- Lead engagement with key community groups such as federated insights teams, data stewards, and data platform users, executing a calendar of initiatives like campaigns, hackathons, and lunch & learns.
- Ensure all community content and communications align with data governance and platform standards, supporting the standardisation of data practices and tool usage across teams.
- Collaborate with data capability and governance specialists to embed effective data management into everyday processes and align activities with learning programs.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand community needs and adapt messaging to reflect evolving regulatory expectations, platform developments, and capability requirements, while monitoring engagement effectiveness and sharing insights.
- Curate and facilitate community content and peer-to-peer knowledge sharing, build trusted relationships across stakeholders, and coach champions to highlight success stories and encourage positive data behaviours.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will have a solid foundation in data and analytics ecosystems, particularly within insurance or financial services, and the ability to think strategically while owning hands-on execution. You’ll be a skilled communicator and collaborator, passionate about building data culture and translating technical concepts into accessible, engaging content.
You will have
- Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, change management, data & AI adoption, or capability development within large, federated and/or regulated organisations.
- Solid understanding of data literacy, governance frameworks, federated data models, and stewardship practices.
- Strong strategic planning and execution skills, with experience leading engagement campaigns and community initiatives.
- Exceptional communication, facilitation, and storytelling abilities to engage diverse audiences.
- Skilled in simplifying complex technical concepts into clear, relevant messaging and content.
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships across technical, business, and executive stakeholders, and foster a culture of learning and collaboration.
