About the business/role/team
The RBA's Banking Department (BK) provides a range of banking services to Australian Government departments, agencies, overseas central banks and official institutions (customers). You'll join the Product, Risk & Analysis team, reporting to the Data & Analytics Manager. The team drives greater data literacy and empowers staff to use data more effectively, boosting efficiency, improving customer outcomes, and reinforcing robust data management across the department.
About the role
Build and enhance data pipelines that improve productivity and provide insights for internal and external stakeholders
Manage the full data lifecycle from ingestion and storage through to documentation and ongoing stewardship
Deliver analysis and insights by transforming complex datasets into clear, actionable findings
About you
Proficient in SQL and R, with experience querying data within large or complex environments.
Strong data lifecycle management capability with experience proposing and implementing strategic data initiatives.
An effective communicator, able to translate business needs into clear data requirements and turn analysis back into actionable insights.
Desirable: experience in payments, government and/or regulatory environments, or working with high‑integrity operational data.
