Your day at NTT DATA
As a Principal DATA Center Technology Sales Specialist at NTT DATA, your day will be filled with engaging clients and driving new business opportunities. You'll be the go-to expert in DATA center solutions, working with our Client Management team to identify and secure qualified leads. As a Sales Specialist, you are also responsible for generating your own pipeline and opportunities within your assigned client base. Your deep knowledge and persuasive skills will help you present solutions, value propositions, partner configurations, cost structures, and revenue models that meet the unique needs of our clients.
You'll build and nurture relationships with clients, ensuring our solutions and services are integrated smoothly into their operations. Acting as the client's primary point of contact, you'll manage accounts, drive expansion and renewals, and handle any issues that arise. Your ability to lead business conversations at the C-level will further strengthen our client relationships and demonstrate the value NTT DATA brings to their business.
You will spend a significant amount of time engaged in selling, in partnership with Client Managers, and contribute to the pre-sales process by collaborating with pre-sales architects to create the best solution designs. develop new business channels and territories by building strong stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally.
You will be responsible for driving the entire sales process, from structuring deals and creating comprehensive client business plans to negotiating contracts and ensuring deals are beneficial for all parties. Maintain a pipeline of leads, using sales methodologies and tools to support the sales process and DATA-driven insights. develop and implement opportunity plans, regularly check in with primary contacts, and ensure stakeholder buy-in.
You will also engage in complex deal structuring and negotiation efforts designed to win new deals and protect existing business. Your goal will be to minimize churn and maximize retention within assigned accounts, helping clients adopt, expand, and renew their solutions.

To thrive in this role, you need to have:
  • A proven track record in achieving and exceeding sales and financial goals.
  • Extensive sales experience in a technology or services environment, particularly in the IT Managed Services sector.
  • Proven experience with solution-based selling and a history of sales over-achievement.
  • Knowledge of competitors and successful application of competing sales strategies.
  • Attention to detail in maintaining up-to-date, accurate sales forecasts and close plans.
  • Experience in developing and nurturing meaningful customer relationships up to the C-level, particularly with CFOs and CTOs.
  • Ability to deliver engaging sales presentations and proficiency in a team selling approach.
  • Strong negotiation skills to craft beneficial solutions for customers, partners, and the organization.
  • A client-centric mindset, with the ability to understand customer problems and find best-fit solutions.
  • Flexibility to adapt quickly to new missions or urgent deadlines.
  • A degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Industry/Vendor sales certifications.
