Hybrid role based in Melbourne, Vic or Sydney, NSW

12-Month Fixed Term


The Role: As a Data Management Specialist, you will play a critical role in documenting and optimising our data ecosystem. You will ensure the accuracy and accessibility of our data sources, flows, and transformations, enabling informed decision-making across the organisation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Document and maintain data flows, transformations, and repositories within Prezzee’s data ecosystem.
  • Create and manage metadata processes to track data from upstream sources to end-use assets (reports, dashboards).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Product, Strategy, Marketing, and Customer Care to define and document key business metrics.
  • Identify and resolve gaps or inconsistencies in data documentation, both technical (data dictionaries) and business-focused (data glossaries).
  • Assess data quality issues, providing actionable insights and solutions.
  • Work closely with technology and product teams to understand changes and their impacts on our data platforms.
  • Present data-driven findings and recommendations in a clear and actionable format.


Technical Responsibilities:

  • Write comprehensive and user-friendly documentation for data workflows.
  • Maintain and enhance master data management processes.
  • Evaluate existing data management practices, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of data definitions and flows.


About You:

  • Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in data management roles.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data structures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Proficient in SQL, Python, or similar programming languages.
  • Familiarity with dbt, Talend Stitch, and AWS Redshift.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools and business process creation.
