Cochlear is hiring for an enthusiastic Data Migration Lead to oversee the planning, execution and delivery of large scale data migration projects.
This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of data throughout the migration process, aligning with project timelines and objectives. This role will be a key liaison with the migration partner and business process streams and cross-functional collaboration with key business stakeholders.
This is a 18 Months FTC role based in our Macquarie Park office and offers hybrid work arrangements.
Key Accountabilities:
Data Migration Strategy and Planning:

Input into a comprehensive data migration strategy aligned with the overall SAP implementation roadmap.

Define data migration scope, objectives, and success criteria in collaboration with key stakeholders.

Establish and maintain the data migration schedule, ensuring adherence to project milestones.
Stakeholder Engagement:

Collaborate with business process owners, IT teams, and data stewards to understand data requirements.

Act as the primary point of contact for all data migration-related activities and issues for Cochlear.

Present status updates and key metrics to the program and stakeholders.
Data Assessment and Preparation:

Support and coordinate detailed data mapping and gap analysis between legacy systems and SAP.

Lead data cleansing, profiling and enrichment activities to ensure consistency and quality.

Oversee business validation and reconciliation activities to prepare data for migration.
Execution of Data Migration:

Lead technical resources in developing any legacy system extracts required to facilitate loading.
-
Support trial data loads, reconciliation, and defect resolution in alignment with project testing cycles (e.g., SIT, UAT).

Coordinate Cochlear cutover activities to ensure seamless data migration during go-live.
Data Quality and Governance:

Establish data quality standards and governance frameworks for the migration process.

Perform data quality checks, audits, and reconciliation post-migration.

Ensure compliance with organizational data policies and regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership and Coordination:

Lead a cross-functional team of data analysts, technical developers, and consultants.

Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to team members to achieve migration objectives.

Manage third-party vendors or consultants involved in the migration effort.
Risk Management:

Identify and mitigate risks associated with data migration activities.
-
Develop contingency plans to address potential data migration challenges or delays.
Key Incumbent requirements:

Proven experience (5+ years) in leading data migration projects, preferably in SAP implementations (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, ECC).

Strong understanding of SAP data models, structures, and integration points.

Understanding of Data Migration tools and methodologies (e.g., SAP Data Services, Syniti, or similar).
-
Proficiency in data profiling, cleansing, and validation techniques.

Solid knowledge of legacy system data structures and migration complexities.

Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.

SAP certification or relevant experience in SAP implementation projects (Desirable)

Experience in cloud-based data migrations and integration tools (Desirable)
