Job DescriptionThe Data Solutions Engineer will be at the forefront of shaping the Bank’s future data landscape, driving innovation in a greenfield environment. With a strategic focus on modernising data architecture, they’ll collaborate across teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions that empower people, customers, and communities. Reporting to the Head of Data & Analytics, this role offers a rare opportunity to influence major transformation and lead the adoption of emerging technologies.
In this role, you will
- Architect and implement enterprise-grade ETL pipelines using Azure services to enable scalable data integration and transformation.
- Lead the development of a robust data engineering strategy covering ETL, data warehousing, governance, and real-time analytics.
- Design and deploy secure, structured data infrastructure optimised for machine learning, AI-driven insights, and executive reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex data requirements into sustainable engineering solutions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards including PII and SOX through strong data governance and lifecycle management.
- Document current and future-state processes to support strategic data capability uplift and transformation.
- Develop intuitive dashboards and visualisations using Power BI and SQL to support decision-making across the organisation.
- Monitor and mitigate risks in data integration, while supporting IT budget forecasting and portfolio-level prioritisation.

- Holds a relevant tertiary qualification and brings deep expertise across technology infrastructure, banking systems, and enterprise architecture.
- Proven ability to align technology strategy with business goals, especially within financial services including retail and business banking.
- Demonstrated experience in agile delivery, ETL processes, data modelling, and cloud-based data architecture.
- Skilled in translating complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions, with strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Knowledgeable in AI, predictive analytics, and data governance, with a clear understanding of compliance standards like PII and SOX.
