Meet the Content Development Team
Our Content Development team are the local, regional and global professionals reassuring clients that our software isn’t just cutting edge – it’s world class too. Responsible for maintaining LEAP’s global standards of care and expertise, the team harnesses a deep and complex understanding of the intricacies of law across jurisdictions and over time – ensuring LEAP’s output is always current, compliant and legally appropriate.
From database design to document management and legal research, you’ll turn an encyclopedic knowledge of the law into a more streamlined and automated global LEAP experience. As a result, LEAP helps law firms help people and make a real difference.
Our Content Development team creates and maintains the comprehensive library of content, including an extensive range of up-to-date, automated forms and precedents as well as matter types enabling law firms to effectively manage legal matters and produce legal documentation quickly and consistently. Our Content Development team also work closely with clients to ensure they’re maximising the use of their content.
What you'll do
This is a technical role for professionals with a legal background who are transitioning into the technology sector. The role of Database Designer (the internal title for Legal Technical Content Support) is crucial in updating and maintaining some of the frontline features in our core platform. Using an internal tool developed for the Content team, you will manage LEAP’s database of Matter types, fields, calculations, and layouts - powering over 10,000 forms and precedents used across Australia.
This is a position unique to LEAP, so you'll be provided with extensive training and guidance from your team of experienced Database Designers to set your up for success - you just need to bring your passion for exploring your technology career.
To make this happen, you will:
- Manage a portfolio of calculations, written in JavaScript, for use by LEAP clients
- Continually improve Matter Types and tables that capture our client’s data
- Maintain and update various legal rates & charges across Australia, including Stamp Duty calculations, using JavaScript
- Apply UX/UI principles to design and develop responsive and dynamic layouts used in LEAP tables
- Work closely with Forms Designers to continually improve the automation and functionality of legal forms
- Review and prioritise feedback from clients and staff on improving the matter types, tables and calculations in your portfolio
- Work with the latest document automation technology for the legal industry to deliver new methods of automation to our clients
- Provide assistance and support to the Content Development team
What you'll bring
- 2 years’ experience working with legal matters (all areas of law considered)
- Experience using Word document automation software
- Understanding of JavaScript
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve
