The Design & Studio Lead heads up Airtasker’s internal creative studio. It’s a hands-on leadership role for a seasoned creative with a strong design background, a sharp eye for detail, and the operational smarts to drive both creative excellence and efficient ways of working.

Leading a talented designer/ illustrator/ animator and a writer/ creative content manager, you’ll report to (and collaborate closely with) our Brand Marketing Lead to deliver high-impact creative across all of Airtasker’s brand touchpoints. With a unique blend of workflow know-how and deep channel expertise, you’ll ensure our creative is bold, on-brand, fit-for-purpose and connects with our audiences.

You’ll be responsible for shaping the evolution of Airtasker’s visual identity and brand guidelines, while also rolling up your sleeves to produce standout design work across key campaigns, product launches and brand moments - both internal and external facing. You’ll be instrumental in raising the creative bar and fostering a collaborative, high-performing creative studio culture.

What you'll do:
  • Lead and deliver standout creative - taking a hands-on approach to concept, design and execution across campaigns, channels, and brand moments.

  • Champion Airtasker’s visual identity, ensuring cohesive, high-quality design across all brand and marketing touchpoints.

  • Drive fit-for-purpose design, applying best practices to create contextual, channel-native creative that cuts through.

  • Own end-to-end creative workflow - from brief intake, resource and timeline management to approvals, delivery and quality control.

  • Collaborate and influence cross-functionally, shaping strong briefs, managing feedback, and advocating for smart, effective creative outcomes.

  • Oversee production requirements, including managing shoots, asset delivery, and ensuring the right formats for the right channels.

  • Elevate internal brand expression, designing presentation templates, event collateral, merch, and more to ensure consistency everywhere Airtasker shows up.

What it takes to be successful in this role:
  • Deep design expertise, with strong hands-on skills across digital, print, product, and brand systems.

  • Sharp conceptual thinking, from interpreting briefs to delivering bold, creative ideas with polish and purpose.

  • Channel-specific know-how, with a clear understanding of best practices across digital, social, OOH, CRM, video, merchandise, and more.

  • Fluency in tools like Adobe Creative Suite and Figma, plus experience overseeing shoots and managing creative production.

  • Strong operational chops, with proven ability to manage end-to-end creative workflows, asset libraries, and competing deadlines.

  • Strategic mindset, connecting creative output to broader brand, marketing, and business objectives.

  • Collaborative leadership, with a track record of mentoring creatives and working cross-functionally to bring ideas to life.
