Who are Heidi?
Heidi is on a mission to halve the time it takes to deliver world-class care.
We believe that by 2050, every clinician will practice with AI systems that free them from administrative burdens and increase the quality and accessibility of care to patients across the world.
Built for clinicians, by clinicians, at the core of Heidi is its people. We are an eclectic bunch of inventors, builders, scientists, nurses, doctors, mathematicians, designers, creatives, and high-agency executors.
We achieve in 6 months what it takes our competitors 4 years to do. In just 12 months, 20 million patient consults were supported by Heidi, and we're now powering more than 1 million consults every week.
With our most recent $16.6M round of funding from leading VC firms, we're geared up to supercharge our ambitious global growth, starting with the US, Canada, UK and Europe - and we need great people like you to get there. Ready for the challenge?
We’re now looking for a DevOps Engineering Manager to lead the charge on infrastructure excellence and help us scale reliably and securely across borders.
The Role
As the go-to leader for DevOps and platform engineering at Heidi, you’ll define and implement our DevOps strategy while rolling up your sleeves to build reliable, scalable, and secure systems.
You will lead a high-performing team and collaborate across engineering, AI, product, and compliance to support rapid innovation without compromising stability. This is the ideal role for someone who’s excited about building healthtech infrastructure from the ground up, in a fast-moving, mission-led company.
What you'll do:
You’ll work side by side with our engineering mastermind to shape the infrastructure behind the future of healthcare:
-
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of talented DevOps engineers.
-
Design and implement a scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure.
-
Own and evolve our CI/CD pipelines to support rapid and safe deployment across environments.
-
Collaborate with AI, backend, and frontend teams to ensure end-to-end system reliability.
-
Introduce and manage observability platforms for performance, alerting, and logging.
-
Champion infrastructure-as-code practices with tools like Terraform and Ansible.
-
Solve complex challenges around service uptime, latency, and cost optimization.
-
Drive decisions on tooling, architecture, and DevOps culture.
-
Build compliance-ready infrastructure aligned with security and privacy standards like ISO 27001, SOC 2, and HIPAA.
-
Remain hands-on, actively contributing to the codebase and infrastructure.
What we’ll look for:
-
8–10+ years of DevOps or SRE experience, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership or management role.
-
Proven track record building and scaling production systems in cloud environments (preferably AWS).
-
Deep knowledge of infrastructure automation, CI/CD tooling, containerization, and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
-
Expertise in monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog).
-
Experience with secrets management, service mesh, and distributed systems.
-
Strong knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements in healthcare.
-
Comfort with scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
-
Bonus: Experience in healthtech, startups, or regulated industries.
What do we believe in?
-
We create unconventional solutions to difficult problems and we build them fast. We want you to set impossible goals and make them happen, think landing a rocket but the medical version.
-
You'll be surrounded by a world-class team of engineers, medicos and designers to do your best work, inspired by our shared beliefs:
-
We will stop at nothing to improve patient care across the world.
-
We design user experiences for joy and ship them fast.
-
We make decisions in a flat hierarchy that prioritizes the truth over rank.
-
We provide the resources for people to succeed and give them the freedom to do it.
-
Help us reimagine primary care and change the face of healthcare around the world.
