Job Description

The Digital & AI Product Manager is accountable for defining, owning and delivering the digital and AI
product strategy, roadmap and outcomes as part of TAL’s Reimagine Claims program. This role ensures that digital and AI-enabled capabilities and automation are delivered as long-lived products operating seamlessly with TAL’s broader Claims technology ecosystem, embedded safely and effectively into Claims operations.

This role bridges business outcomes, customer and consultant experience, technology delivery and governance, ensuring Reimagine Claims delivers measurable improvements in speed to decision, consistency, risk management and cost efficiency.

In this role you will:

  • Define and maintain the product vision, strategy and multi-horizon roadmap for Digital and AI
    products within TAL’s Reimagine Claims mission.
  • Align the Digital and AI product strategy to the Reimagine Claims mission, Claims Strategy and agreed benefit priorities.
  • Own prioritisation of problems and initiatives based on Customer and Partner insights, Claims
    Consultant needs, data, risk and business impact.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts through discovery, test-and-learn, delivery and scale, working
    closely with design, engineering, data, risk and change.
  • Ensure clear product ownership across initiatives transitioning from pilot into production
    operations
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of Claims Digital (i.e. Claims Lodgement through to ongoing
    Claims Management) and AI-enabled products (e.g. generative AI including Document
    Intelligence, ML and Predictive Decisioning Support), from use-case definition through pilot,
    scale and ongoing optimisation.
  • Partner with Risk, Legal, Compliance and Data teams to ensure responsible AI adoption and
    sustainable operating models.
  • Ensure alignment of the AI and Digital product delivery with target customer and claims
    consultant journeys, together with related product development on underlying platforms and
    new products for Digital Trust
  • Manage partner relationships with respect to Digital and AI products, to ensure product and
    business outcomes are clearly defined, aligned and achieved.
  • Clearly communicate product strategy, progress, risks and decisions to senior stakeholders.
  • Build team capability and maturity in discovery techniques, data-driven decision making and
    customer-centric product development.

Qualifications

  • Strong product management capability across strategy, discovery, delivery and lifecycle
    management
  • Understanding of data, rules-based decisioning and workflow automation concepts
  • Understanding of AI capabilities and limitations, with ability to translate business problems into
    potential AI-enabled solutions
  • Demonstrated experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner for enterprise digital
    products.
  • Experience delivering change in regulated or risk-sensitive environments (life insurance, other
    insurance industries, or financial services)
  • Experience transitioning initiatives from project delivery into BAU or product ownership models.
  • Experience working with AI / advanced analytics use-cases (from problem definition through to
    operationalisation)
