About the Wellness Pet Company

The Wellness Pet Company is on a mission to help the next generation of pet parents fulfill a shared life of wellbeing with their pets through a foundation of proven nutrition. We are committed to crafting high-quality pet food, dental chews, treats, and topper recipes that are made with the perfect balance of high-quality natural ingredients paired with the latest scientific research and technologies.

What You’ll Accomplish

As the Digital Marketing Manager, you will own the entire marketing function for Wellness Pet in Australia and New Zealand: strategy, execution, budget, and results. You will report directly to the Country Manager and operate as the senior marketing voice for the business. There is no local marketing layer above you and no agency between you and the work; what you build here is yours.

The title reflects where your expertise needs to be at its strongest: digital. Our growth is driven by eCommerce, retail media, and performance marketing across Meta, Google, and Amazon and we need someone who can set the strategy and execute it in-platform. You will also oversee brand presence, trade marketing, and the marketing support function. This is a 360-degree remit, not a channel role. If you have grown up in digital, agency-side or in-house, and you are ready to own a full marketing department rather than contribute to one, this is the opportunity you have been waiting for! This role is comprised of four key focus areas:

Digital and Social Marketing:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive digital and social marketing plans to enhance brand presence.
  • Oversee a direct report who handles day-to-day social media operations, including content creation, community engagement, and influencer partnerships.
  • Leverage Key Opinion Leader (KOL) resources and build new partnerships to enhance brand visibility and reach a broader audience.
  • Creation of Google Ads and Meta campaigns to drive online sales at our key retail partners
  • Monitor performance of paid digital/social advertising campaigns and measure ROI and LTV:CAC ratios.
  • Creation of digital retail media campaigns with our key partners

Marketing Strategy:

  • Develop comprehensive consumer and trade marketing strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Develop specific marketing plans to build e-commerce presence and drive growth online
  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends and opportunities, utilizing data and analytics to refine strategies.
  • Utilize data and analytics to refine strategies and improve ROI.
  • Help develop new products and formats to suit the Australian market

Brand Building:

  • Build and maintain constant brand presence across key channels and consumer touchpoints.
  • Create and execute promotional campaigns, in-store displays, and other initiatives to enhance brand visibility.
  • Conduct brand building activities such as events, partnerships, PR, and social media.
  • Create compelling and on-brand copy for various marketing materials, including promotional content, social media posts, and advertising campaigns.
  • Manage marketing budget to support marketing plans, promotional plans, product launches and other initiatives.
  • Conduct market and consumer research to better understand trends and consumer behavior.

Sales Support:

  • Develop presentations and analysis to sell-in new products and programs to customers.
  • Liaise with and present to retail and e-commerce customers.
  • Provide regular reports on the performance of trade marketing initiatives at local and regional level.

Who We’re Looking For

Team Wellie is a group of people who are truly obsessed with all the best ways about winning for the consumer and the pets they love. And so, we are seeking an individual who:

  • Always starts with the consumer
  • Is dedicated to doing it right the first time
  • Brings their best every day
  • Has an “all-in” mindset
  • Embraces the hard things and does them right away
  • Owns their outcomes
  • Gives back to their community

In addition, for this specific role, we need someone who possesses:

  • A minimum of 3 years in a similar role with the proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in digital marketing, performance marketing, eCommerce, either at an agency or in-house
  • Extensive hands-on experience in crafting and building brands across categories
  • Proven and robust background in social and digital marketing with a focus on generating brand awareness and driving trial
  • Experience with paid digital and social advertising, including monitoring performance and measuring ROI and LTV:CAC
  • Experience with Amazon 1P, including forecasting and advertising
  • Expertise in developing and implementing digital and social marketing plans to enhance brand presence, including overseeing day-to-day social media operations and influencer partnerships
  • Demonstrated ability to develop comprehensive consumer and trade marketing strategies aligned with overall business objectives, with proven success in execution
  • Experience in liaising with and presenting to retail and e-commerce customers, providing regular reports on the performance of trade marketing initiatives
  • Proven track record and portfolio of creating and executing marketing campaigns that stand out and punch above their weight
