As Director, Business Manager, Technology, Data & AI, you will sit at the heart of how Zip’s Technology organisation runs. This is a senior, high-impact leadership role where you will design and embed the operating rhythm that underpins our engineering, data, AI and security teams. Partnering closely with the CIO and Technology Leadership Team, you will ensure strategy, investment, architecture, risk and delivery are aligned and executed with discipline as Zip continues to scale.
What you’ll own- Designing and running the Office of the CIO operating rhythm, including planning cycles, portfolio governance, leadership cadences and quarterly business reviews
- Coordinating technology governance forums to ensure decisions are data-led, outcomes are tracked and risks are visible and actively managed
- End-to-end coordination of technology strategy and roadmaps, aligning enterprise strategy, architecture and execution
- Overseeing technology financial management including OPEX, forecasting, variance analysis and investment governance in partnership with Finance
- Leading workforce and capacity planning across Technology, Data and AI, balancing permanent, contingent and vendor capability
- Driving visibility, optimisation and risk reduction across SaaS and tooling spend
- Partnering with architecture leaders to embed Zip’s target-state architecture and ensure initiatives align to long-term strategic intent
- Providing executive oversight of major incidents, post-incident reviews and continuous improvement actions
- Strengthening technology risk, controls, audit readiness and operational resilience across the function
- Extensive experience in technology operations, business management or program leadership supporting senior technology executives
- Strong commercial acumen with hands-on experience managing technology budgets, investment governance and workforce planning
- Proven ability to operate in complex, regulated or high-scale technology environments
- A solid understanding of enterprise architecture concepts and how strategy, platforms and delivery intersect
- Executive-level experience overseeing technology risk management, audit readiness and incident response
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across executive, technical and non-technical audiences
- A calm, structured and outcomes-focused approach, with the ability to bring clarity in ambiguous environments
- A mindset that embraces AI and new tools to adapt, learn and grow.
