The PITCH

We're on the hunt for an ambitious, modern Director, CAIT (Creators, Affiliates, Influencers & Talent) & Social Commerce to help shape and expand our creator and social commerce offerings in Australia. Managing an agile, talented squad while collaborating with Client Partnerships, Strategy, Creative, and Media leads, you will bridge the gap between culture, creator content, and full-funnel commerce. This is a 12-month contract position based in Sydney, reporting directly to agency leadership.

Here's your first brief --

  • Drive integrated CAIT strategy: Formulate multi-channel creator, affiliate, talent, and social commerce strategies aligned to client business goals, ensuring creator work is integrated from campaign inception.
  • Command TikTok Shop & Social Commerce: Lead end-to-end social commerce capabilities, including TikTok Shop setup, creator recruitment, seeding, promotional campaigns, affiliate programs, and performance optimization.
  • Architect talent & creator partnerships: Oversee talent casting, sourcing, and complex negotiations covering fees, deliverables, usage rights, licensing, exclusivity, and paid amplification.
  • Champion social-first creative & briefing: Translate campaign ideas into platform-native briefs that empower creators while protecting strategic objectives and brand safety.
  • Oversee commercial & operational health: Manage team workflows, project budgets, agency scopes, and profitability metrics to deliver sustainable, business-driving results for clients.
  • Lead, mentor & scale team capability: Guide and mentor local CAIT team members across casting, strategy, contract negotiation, and content production.
  • Foster APAC & platform relationships: Build strong partnerships with talent networks, affiliate platforms, creator agents, and regional APAC CAIT leads to share intelligence and scale best practice.
  • Fuel business growth & thought leadership: Lead CAIT pitch work for new business opportunities and represent VaynerMedia as a subject-matter expert across the Australian creator economy.

Your Experience

  • 7–10+ years of dedicated experience across influencer marketing, creator relations, talent management, affiliate marketing, social commerce, or integrated agency work within the Australian market.
  • Proven social commerce expertise: Direct experience with social commerce ecosystems, with hands-on TikTok Shop strategy and affiliate execution strongly preferred.
  • Commercial & negotiation mastery: Deep understanding of talent fees, rights usage, exclusivity, paid amplification, scoping, agency margins, and P&L indicators.
  • Strategic & creative instincts: Ability to evaluate whether creator content and feed-native ideas will succeed in-feed, balancing strategic rigor with cultural relevance.
  • Senior client counsel & presentation skills: Proven track record advising C-suite client stakeholders, pitching new business, and translating complex platform changes into strategic opportunities.
  • People & operational leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage, mentor, and scale cross-functional team members in fast-paced agency environments.

What you should know about VaynerMedia

Think “lab” and not “agency”. We get excited about solving business problems, not creating advertising for the sake of making advertising. Our entrepreneurship DNA runs deep. We’re willing to break rules, try new things, and test hypotheses if it means better understanding our craft. It’s fun!

Our environment (and pace) feels much more like a start-up than most agencies you might be used to. Hopefully that, and the opportunity to collaborate with the talented and enthusiastic crew, work with big brands excites you, as it does us. We can’t wait to meet you.
