You will be responsible for the development and delivery of the marketing strategy to support our Australia and New Zealand business which refers to our business development effort to sell Capital Group’s funds, via distributors, banks and advisers, to end investors (i.e. B2B distribution strategy). 

Develops marketing strategy

  • Develop and implement a high performing and measurable annual marketing strategy and plan to reach financial intermediary clients and prospects

  • Define the business opportunity and solution for the ANZ Financial Intermediaries business by partnering with sales and marketing leaders

  • Partners with marketing research, sales and product teams to develop powerful audience insights that drive the achievement of business objectives. Maintains knowledge of research and in-field techniques to develop the customer empathy required to distill the insight.

  • Plan, manage and deliver fully integrated marketing campaigns, using offline and online media and in line with the strategic objectives of the business, and suited to the Australian market

  • Develop the company’s brand, reputation and positioning in ANZ

  • Play a critical role in representing marketing at the Australian Leadership Team and contributing to the leadership of our ANZ business

Adept at stakeholder management

  • Build a strong partnership with the sales teams to establish joint priorities and gain alignment on strategic plans

  • Manage and build strong relationships with internal departments, key clients and external agencies on an ongoing basis

  • Work collaboratively with other associates within Marketing.  Establish partnership model with marketing peers in Europe, Asia and US and lead marketing project teams through influence.

  • Act as the ‘bridge’ between the local ANZ sales team and the central Marketing function.  Convey the sales team’s perspective to Central Marketing and vice-versa.  Manage each team’s expectations.

  • Maintain a client-facing role by establishing peer-to-peer marketing relationships with local distributors and partners to develop joint marketing initiatives and increase Capital Group’s access to third-party promotional activity

Manage prioritisation and execution of marketing deliverables for ANZ Financial Intermediaries audience

  • Develop strategic marketing briefs based on audience insights

  • Prioritise, tailor and implement Global Financial Intermediary campaigns for the ANZ Financial Intermediary market. These include but are not limited to: Brand campaigns, product campaigns, thematic campaigns.

  • Develop and maintain marketing literature/toolkits and country websites in local language, ensuring content is accurate, up-to-date and relevant to the target audience

  • Ensure that all marketing activities comply with the regulatory requirements of local regulators

  • Oversee and review all processes and procedures to ensure quality output of all materials, campaigns, programmes and quality brand representation across all elements of the marketing mix

  • Responsible for budget planning, allocation, day-to-day management and reporting for all ANZ marketing activities

  • Responsible for managing one CMA (Client Marketing Assistant)

ANZ asset management marketing SME

  • Provide ongoing, in-depth insights about the ANZ Financial Intermediaries landscape:  distributors, end-investors, market opportunities, competitor intelligence, regulatory issues, agencies, media etc.  Knowledge and experience of both private banking and retail banking channels strongly preferred.

  • 15+ years asset management marketing experience, primarily in ANZ.

  • In-depth knowledge of the ANZ Financial Intermediaries asset management industry and best practices.

  • Strong skills across the full marketing mix including:

    • Strategic marketing - ability to develop strategic marketing plans, campaigns and optimise budget.

    • PR – experience of working with PR agencies and/or local media.

    • Events – experience selecting, budgeting for and project managing events

    • Advertising – digital, OOH and print

    • Digital marketing – social media, email marketing, website development and maintenance

    • Content creation/thought leadership

    • Analytics/using metrics to inform strategy

    • Demonstrated experience of ‘modern marketing’ techniques (i.e. personalised digital campaigns, lead generation etc.)

  • Able and willing to work on strategic initiatives as well as execute

  • High levels of energy, commitment and collaboration

  • Exceptional stakeholder management and project management skills

  • Entrepreneurial, innovative and creative – able to suggest new marketing ideas to drive sales and increase client engagement

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Great team player – both at the local Australia business and Global/APAC Marketing team level

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
