The Director, Marketing Strategy is responsible for owning marketing performance, crafting and driving the marketing strategy, and identifying sources of growth across US Headquartered Enterprise Corporations.

About the Role

In this opportunity as Director, Marketing Strategy you will: 

  • Serve as the primary point-of-contact and trusted thought partner between the Segment Lead and Marketing team, working closely with business leaders to translate business objectives into impactful marketing strategies and plans

  • Develop acquisition, cross-sell, and upsell marketing strategies and plans to meet business objectives, including expertise in Enterprise and account-based marketing experimentation methodologies via iterative planning cycles

  • Lead market research and develop robust knowledge of US Enterprise buyers and their customer journeys, key barriers and triggers

  • Identify commonalities between sub-segment needs and positioning to drive scale in marketing campaigns

  • Use customer insights, competitive intelligence and data/analytics to establish iterative planning cycles where campaign performance is reviewed with the sub-segments and modified, where necessary, to drive impactful campaigns

  • Surface customer needs and insights to develop strategic program briefs that inspire the rest of the Marketing organization so that impactful marketing campaigns can be planned and executed

  • Use data/analytics, customer insights and competitive intelligence to optimize campaign strategies and performance, and build experimental roadmap

  • Experience with marketing to Corporate Legal buyers a plus

Key Deliverables:

  • Delivery of effective marketing strategies to fuel sales funnel, from marketing qualified lead to closed sale based upon agreed upon goals.

  • Delivery of financial targets and improved ROI for the segment.

  • Delivery of sales growth through targeted marketing strategies.

  • Ensure customer voice is driving marketing actions.

About You

You’re a fit for the role of Director, Marketing Strategy if your background includes:

  • 10+ years in marketing, strategy, campaign strategy, and or segment/subsegment role

  • BA/BS required, MBA preferred

  • Experience working with and presenting to senior leadership strongly preferred

  • High-achieving, data-driven marketer that thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative atmosphere

  • Team player with the ability to foster and influence strong relationships across multiple levels and functions within the organization

  • Highly analytical approach to experimentation and campaign performance analysis

  • Experience in a matrixed environment preferred

  • Experience leveraging customer insights to drive strategy, planning, organizational and project management skills

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations.

For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $135,800 - $252,200.

This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
