JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the successful Project Delivery, including but not limited to, creation and management of the project schedule, cost, quality and HSE.  Working with and reporting to the Programme Director. The SPM is additionally responsible for each member of the project team and stakeholders.  To coordinate team members R&R’s, manage performance and ensure the team is integrated and communicating.  The SPM is further responsible for managing the project and construction management team, including contractors, consultants, and supply and install vendors, by ensuring specific tasks and responsibilities are managed by the PM team member responsible, and the tasks are being undertaken according to the schedule and method statement, monitoring progress, and developing solutions to resolve identified issues to mitigate risk.

Specific responsibilities: The SPM should understand the Keppel mission, and project objectives and can explain to all stakeholders, with evidence, what can be carried out, what needs to be modified, what conditions are attached when undertaking projects in Australia, and specifically in Melbourne.

The SPM should be able to understand the difference in cultures and business practices that are behind each statement from potential occupiers, Keppel, general contractors, potential JV partners, etc. and explain the gap to each party.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • A background in mission critical development projects, data centre experience preferred, min 15 years' experience. Strong and fair Leadership style, able to engage at every level including government authorities, utilities providers, contractors, designers and suppliers as well as internally within KDC. Relevant working experience in both domestic and multi-national corporations An Engineering degree in either Mechanical, Electrical, Civil & Structural Engineering, Architecture or Quantity Surveying. Project Management and Construction background in large scale Mission Critical Projects with Greenfield data centre Site Experience preferred including:
  • Master Planning and Project Scheduling
  • Contractor management and coordination
  • Integrating Civil & Structural and MEPF works with sub-structure and super-structure works
  • Design Management incl. Reviewing drawings for buildability and alignment with approved consultant designs
  • Contribute to Integrated design solutions to ensure constructability and efficient detailed design
  • Commercial strategy, early works readiness and transition to execution including:
  • Liaising with Government bodies and authorities
  • Closely monitor and track the permitting process to ensure compliance with all relevant local laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Manage project budgets and process payments to contractors and consultants in a timely and efficient manner. Contract management Proficient in Project Master Schedules in Microsoft Project including:
  • Regular progress updates and comparisons to baseline for Project Reporting – assist in updating weekly and monthly detailed PCG reports
  • Risk Management: Run Risk Meetings to Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate them. Oversee the construction and commissioning phases, ensuring the work is completed to the required quality standards. Manage project closeout activities, including the completion of final documentation and the seamless handover to the client.
