Our people are foundational to our strategy– they are not ‘resources’ that we leverage! Our People team (formerly Human Resources) partners with leaders to engage and attract high performing, diverse, entrepreneurial talent. We continuously challenge ourselves to be BOLD in our thinking, design and delivery of people solutions that enable our people to be the best that they can be and drive exceptional ResMed success.

We are looking for a visionary Director of Strategic Workforce Planning to lead the development and integration of a future-focused, data-driven capability across our global organization. This newly created role will be instrumental in aligning talent strategies with business and financial forecasts - ensuring we have the right people, in the right roles, at the right time.

As the global lead, you’ll partner closely with senior leaders across People, Finance, and Business functions to drive productivity, workforce agility, and capability-based planning. You’ll be joining the Talent Management function, reporting through Talent, Learning, and Organizational Development, and complementing existing succession and talent assessment initiatives.

This is a rare opportunity to shape a capability that has not yet been developed at ResMed -bringing strategic alignment, operational impact, and scalable practices to life.

What You’ll Be Driving

Strategic Planning Leadership

  • Design and globally roll out ResMed’s SWP framework aligned to enterprise strategy, financial planning, and AOP cycles.
  • Translate strategic plans into actionable workforce levers (build, buy, borrow, bot).
  • Institutionalize workforce planning as a core business capability through playbooks, leader enablement, and planning routines.

Integrated Capability & Ecosystem Planning

  • Build and apply skills-based workforce plans using capability models, role adjacencies, and upskilling strategies.
  • Account for the total workforce mix - permanent, contingent, gig, and partner-based roles.
  • Lead scenario modeling to prepare for market shifts, regulatory changes, and workforce disruption.

Technology, Data & Analytics

  • Partner with HRIS and People Analytics to enhance Workday, Anaplan, and Tableau for real-time planning.
  • Ensure data accuracy and governance while driving adoption of predictive analytics and automation impact models.
  • Integrate workforce metrics into executive dashboards and enterprise decision cycles.

Cross-functional Collaboration & Location Strategy

  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, Finance, Real Estate, and other COEs to align workforce supply/demand with operational and geographic priorities.
  • Guide shared services and location strategy decisions through workforce insights, cost modeling, and long-range planning.

Change, DEI & ESG Alignment

  • Lead change efforts to embed SWP across teams and functions.
  • Ensure workforce plans support Resmed’s inclusion, sustainability, and social impact goals.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years in HR, workforce planning, or strategic operations with global or extended regional exposure.
  • Proven success leading end-to-end workforce planning in large, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to convert strategy into operational plans.
  • Expertise in Anaplan, Workday, and workforce analytics tools.
  • Experience influencing senior leaders to adopt enterprise-wide change.

What Sets You Apart

We’re excited to meet someone who brings hands-on experience in workforce planning - someone who’s not only shaped strategies but also seen them through to real-world impact. If you’ve led initiatives that made a difference for people and business outcomes, we’d love to hear your story! This is your opportunity to bring those experiences to a global stage and help shape what’s next.
