The Director of Technical Communications will serve as the strategic leader of LogicMonitor’s technical documentation function, transforming our technical content ecosystem into a critical driver of product adoption, customer enablement, and organizational scale. This role goes beyond managing content delivery—it requires a visionary who can shape a company-wide documentation strategy, influence cross-functional partners, and integrate content into the full product development and go-to-market lifecycle. You will oversee a team of Content Writers, and Information Architects, while building the framework, infrastructure, and partnerships necessary to deliver documentation that empowers users, accelerates onboarding, and supports internal enablement at scale.
This position reports directly to the Sr. Director of Product Operations.
Here's a closer look at this key role:
- Define and own the company-wide documentation strategy, ensuring it is tightly aligned to product roadmap priorities, customer needs, and business outcomes across the full product lifecycle.
- Lead, develop, and scale a high-performing team of Technical Writers, UX Writers, and Information Architects, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and inclusivity while supporting a strong first-line manager on executional delivery.
- Integrate documentation strategy into the product development and go-to-market lifecycle, ensuring content planning begins at ideation and is embedded in every stage from build to launch to adoption.
- Oversee the creation of high-quality, user-centric content that accelerates product adoption, improves onboarding, and supports both external users and internal enablement efforts.
- Drive tooling and infrastructure innovation, owning the roadmap and budget for modern authoring tools, automation, and scalable documentation systems that improve efficiency and discoverability.
- Establish and maintain governance frameworks, including content standards, style guides, templates, and review processes to ensure consistency, accuracy, and a best-in-class user experience.
- Build and operationalize content analytics, tracking usage, performance, and quality to inform continuous improvement and demonstrate business impact.
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, or relevant field experience.
- 10+ years in technical communication roles, with 5+ years in a strategic leadership capacity managing documentation functions at scale
- Strong understanding of SaaS platforms, IT operations, and observability tools; ability to grasp complex technical concepts and translate them into user-friendly documentation.
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments, with the ability to inspire teams, drive clarity and foster professional growth.
- Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
- Proven track record of building documentation strategies, transforming content ecosystems, and leading cross-functional programs.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder relationships.
- Demonstrated expertise in PDLC/SDLC integration, content tooling, process design, and performance metrics
- Experience with DITA and topic-based authoring preferred
- Experience using AI tools to enhance productivity, innovation, or problem-solving

Compensation packages at LogicMonitor for eligible roles include base salary, a variable plan depending on role, along with comprehensive benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base salary target for new hires in the position, determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, interview performance, and relevant education or training.
