About the role.
Drive McCain's Foodservice growth as our Distributor Manager for SA, WA & NT - manage key accounts, lead promotions, and build strong customer partnerships. Ideally based in Adelaide (or Perth), you'll shape strategy, own results, and travel across your region to make an impact.
What you'll be doing.
  • State-Level Account Management: Direct responsibility for managing key Foodservice customers (Bidfood, Countrywide, Nafda, PFD, Superior, Campbell's, and Independent Foodservice) at both state and branch levels.
  • Strategic Execution: Aligns with National Customer Managers and Field Managers to implement sales and marketing strategies that meet sales volume, NSV, and gross margin targets.
  • Business Planning & Promotion: Develops and manages customer business plans, promotions, and product launches to drive McCain brand presence and performance.
  • Customer & Team Communication: Maintains regular communication on stock, pricing, claims, and performance with both customers and the internal sales team.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Completes internal/external business reviews and reports, ensures adherence to McCain policies, and manages trade spend effectively.
  • Field Engagement: Conducts regular field visits and supports non-directly managed customers to strengthen distributor relationships and ensure supply continuity.

What you'll need to be successful.
  • 5+ years' sales experience, ideally in the Foodservice industry, with a strong track record in managing customer relationships and delivering results.
  • Proven ability in sales strategy development, business planning, and achieving commercial targets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with tools like Salesforce, Power BI, SAP, and EDW is advantageous.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including financial literacy, data analysis, and business insight.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills; capable of influencing both customers and internal teams.
  • Self-motivated, autonomous, and collaborative, with flexibility to travel across SA, WA, NT and nationally as required.

About the team.
Joining the state team provides an exciting opportunity to collaborate closely with 2 indirect peers across SA and WA, who manage the local field team and End Users, ensuring smooth operations and the achievement of shared business objectives.
While directly joining a team of 6 peers, across ANZ in similar roles in each state.
As a member of the state-based leadership group, you will contribute to strategic decision-making and the ongoing success of the state teams, through your commitment to excellence and innovation.
