About the Role

We’re looking for a Distributor Manager to join our Storage Equipment Division (SED). Reporting to the Division Director, you’ll help grow and support our Colby network, driving success across Australia and New Zealand. It’s a role that blends hands-on technical support with strategic business development — and you’ll lead a small, capable team while working closely with our sales, R&D, marketing, and supply chain teams.

If you’re someone who stays calm under pressure, communicates with confidence and diplomacy, and enjoys working with independent business owners, this could be a great fit. We currently offer a hybrid working setup — time in the office, some flexibility to work from home, and travel across Australia and New Zealand.

      Tasks and Qualifications:

      Key Responsibilities

      Technical & Product Support

      • Be the go-to expert for distributors and customers on racking and storage systems

      • Deliver engaging product and sales training sessions

      • Partner with R&D and Marketing to create technical and promotional content

      • Provide smart, practical solutions to technical challenges

      Distributor Network Management

      • Build and grow strong distributor relationships to drive sales and profitability

      • Identify new business opportunities and support existing partners

      • Run distributor meetings, training sessions, and events

      • Negotiate pricing and terms with commercial confidence

      • Stay on top of market trends and competitor activity

      • Represent Dematic at trade shows and industry events

      • Work with Supply Chain to ensure smooth delivery and accurate forecasting

      Leadership & Collaboration

      • Lead and mentor a small, capable team

      • Foster a positive, performance-driven culture

      • Champion health, safety, and environmental best practices

      • Collaborate across teams and proactively solve problems

      About You

      You’ll bring a balance of technical understanding, commercial acumen, and people leadership. You enjoy working with independent distributors and can engage with tact, structure, and professionalism.

      You will ideally have:

      • Demonstrated experience managing distributor networks or technical sales channels

      • Strong understanding of how racking systems are designed, specified, and sold

      • Excellent leadership skills with experience managing small teams

      • Strong financial and commercial judgment with a focus on results

      • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills

      • A calm, diplomatic, and structured approach to managing diverse stakeholders

      • A tertiary qualification in Business, Engineering or a related technical discipline (highly regarded)
