Dot Esports, the premier destination for gaming & esports coverage online, is looking for freelance writers anywhere in the world to join our news desk. This role is freelance and fully remote.

Interested candidates should have in-depth knowledge of World of Warcraft and must be comfortable writing news/guides about various gaming-related topics related to the MMO. This is a great opportunity to cover the gaming communities you love while working with one of the best teams in esports journalism. Applicants should be self-starters who are eager to learn and respond well to constructive criticism. We’re a global, digital newsroom, and work will be remote.

Please provide a portfolio or writing examples to showcase your work.

Responsibilities:

  • Help cover news and guides around WoW
  • Work with editors to develop pitches
  • Meet deadlines for publishing stories
  • Follow trending topics through Google Trends and Twitter
  • Understanding the online WoW community
  • Publish multiple stories a week for Dot's WoW beat 

Preferred qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience writing in the gaming industry
  • Knowledge of SEO practices
  • Weekend availability

Compensation ranges from $16-250 per article depending on length and content type.
