About the Role

We are looking for a Category Specialist to join the eBay Live team. In this role, you will help grow key categories by driving GMV, crafting seller strategy, and connecting content, commerce, and community.

You will partner with Category Managers to support established verticals while also incubating and developing new emerging categories. This role offers the opportunity to directly influence category performance, seller success, and the evolution of live commerce at eBay.

You will work closely across teams such as Business Development, Programming, and Marketing to define category strategies, generate insights from data, scale seller success, and deliver engaging live experiences.

What You’ll Do
  • Support day-to-day operations & strategy for eBay Live categories, including collaborating with existing categories and developing emerging categories.

  • Partner with Business Development teams to attract and grow high-quality sellers and increase content density

  • Analyse performance data and category trends to identify opportunities and recommend experiments and growth initiatives

  • Plan and deliver live events with sellers and Programming teams to increase viewership, engagement, and sales

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners (Marketing, Seller Experience, Trust, Finance) to deliver campaigns and launches on time and at scale

  • Build strategic partnerships with internal category teams and external partners to build a best-in-class platform and experience

  • Monitor market and competitor activity to develop strategy and identify new opportunities

Who You Are
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

  • 1–3 years of experience in a commercial, category management or live commerce related role

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear insights and actions

  • Effective communicator who can present ideas clearly to cross-functional stakeholders

  • Proven track record to collaborate across teams and manage multiple competing priorities

  • Analytical thinker able to synthesise and process data from different sources to form insights and recommendations.

  • Proactive problem-solver who takes ownership and drives outcomes

  • Passion in live commerce, content, and seller growth

  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment, with an entrepreneurial spirit
