Egis is currently seeking an experienced Ecology Principal with 8+ years of experience working in NSW to be a part of our passionate and entrepreneurial NSW team and support the growth of the Ecology Discipline in NSW. As a member of our Environmental Assessment and Management team, you will be supporting a growing range of projects within the private, government and the resource sectors. This is a unique role that is also offering opportunities for interested candidates in a technical leadership position in the team working collaboratively with the Environmental Approvals and Management Discipline Lead. 

Job Description

About the Role

  • Leading and approving associated technical work directly related to the discipline and in project management capacities
  • Partner with internal teams, sharing knowledge with experts across these multiple disciplines.
  • Planning and implementing ecological investigations and assessments, including:
    • Ecological surveys
    • Ecological monitoring
    • Revegetation and offset
    • BAR/BDAR
  • Preparation of technical reporting, including investigation reports, constraints assessments, ecological management plans, offset strategies and impact assessments
  • Management of ecology projects and client relationships 
  • Preparing proposals that drive innovative, practical and sustainable outcomes for clients
  • Supporting the well-being, development, and resourcing of team members.
  • Playing an active role in the business groups through regular meetings, workshops and training.

 

    Qualifications

    About You

    • You are looking for the next step in your professional development and an opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of an ecology team and discipline
    • 8+ years of relevant ecological experience, mostly in New South Wales, in a similar role within industry, consulting or government
    • Experience in the delivery of ecological field and monitoring programs
    • Class C, open licence required and experience with 4WD desirable
    • Ability and willingness to travel as required, including working remotely with other ecologists in the field
    • Bachelor’s degree of Ecology, Environmental Science, Botany or Environmental Management (or relevant discipline)
    • Working knowledge of NSW legislation, policies and guidelines
    • BAM accreditation or working towards would be well regarded
