Serve as the technical face of eCommerce or Data Science/AI practices: run demos and webinars, build and own demo sandboxes and POCs, translate technical capabilities into business outcomes, engage executive buyers, and collaborate with delivery teams to convert technical conversations into pipeline.
Solutions Consultant — eCommerce & Data Science Royal Cyber · Naperville, IL (Hybrid — Naperville + Chicago) · Full-time · 3 openings About the role This is not a traditional sales role. You will be the technical face of one of our two practices — eCommerce or Data Science / AI — running demos, leading webinars, presenting at industry events, and converting technical conversations into pipeline. You will own your demo environment end-to-end, stand up POCs without leaning on an architect, and translate platform and solution capability into business outcomes for buyers ranging from Head of Digital, Director of eCommerce, and Director of Data through to the CIO and CTO. We have three openings split across two practices: • eCommerce — replatforming, headless and composable commerce, and POCs spanning mid-market and enterprise buyers, including both established retailers and digitally-native brands. • Data Science / AI — POCs and use-case discovery across machine learning, generative AI, MLOps, and data platform modernization for enterprise customers. A typical week includes two or three live demos in your sandbox, one webinar or partner event, discovery calls with prospects sourced through marketing and your own outbound, and ongoing collaboration with our delivery teams to feed real implementation patterns back into your pitch. Lead generation today is driven heavily by the events and webinars our Solutions Consultants run — so what you build directly shapes the pipeline. What we’re looking for Two to three years in solutions consulting, sales engineering, technical pre-sales, or technical consulting tied to either modern eCommerce platforms or data science and AI tooling. We are platform-agnostic on candidate background — what matters is that you understand your domain end-to-end and can hold a credible conversation across architecture, integrations, and business value. You can deliver a demo unaided and you are comfortable doing it in front of a room. You communicate with the polish of someone who has spent time in front of executive buyers. A master’s degree (MBA, MS, or similar) is strongly preferred — we recruit actively from Kellogg, Booth, and comparable programs. US work authorization without ongoing sponsorship is preferred. Relevant backgrounds by track: • eCommerce track: Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, Adobe Commerce (Magento), Salesforce Commerce Cloud, commercetools, SAP Commerce, Oracle Commerce, or comparable enterprise commerce platforms. • Data Science / AI track: Python and SQL fluency; hands-on exposure to ML and AI workflows; comfort with platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, Google Vertex AI, or LLM tooling (OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face); awareness of MLOps patterns. A data science, statistics, or ML engineering background is welcome — provided the candidate has client-facing instincts. What we offer Base salary $70,000, with on-target variable compensation bringing total OTE to $90,000, calibrated to experience and practice depth. Hybrid schedule based out of our Naperville HQ with regular days at our Chicago Loop office. Health, dental, vision, 401(k), and the resources to build a practice you can point to in five years and say you built it.
