Job Expectations
Build your career and Australia’s future.
Not many people can say they are working on building Australia’s future. With us you’ll be doing just that, leaving a legacy for all Australians. Plus, there’s equal employment, great training, and true flexible working arrangements.
We have an exciting opportunity at nbn for an Employee Relations Advisor to join our team, reporting to the General Manager Employee Relations.
A bit about your role
As the Employee Relations Advisor, you will play a vital role in providing specialist, high-level advice across industrial and employee relations (ER) matters. You will lead with care and confidence in managing ER cases, conducting thorough investigations, and delivering data-driven insights that strengthen employee engagement and workplace harmony.
You will also help refine and enhance our case management framework, streamlining processes, and supporting early triage. Your ability to identify emerging trends and translate them into meaningful, actionable insights will be central to creating positive change.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to broader strategic People & Culture projects. From enterprise bargaining and policy development to workforce planning, your input will help shape initiatives that support our people and strengthen our culture.
A bit about you
The successful candidate will have a background in employee relations, case management, or workplace investigations. The role requires exposure in managing employee case matters such as performance, discipline, and grievance procedures, as well as supporting the preparation of submissions and evidence in employment claims. While experience in employment law is beneficial, it is not essential.
Your ability to leverage digital tools, including Microsoft software and AI-driven data analysis, will allow you to identify trends and generate actionable insights that guide decision-making. You approach every challenge with a solution-oriented mindset and a genuine desire to foster meaningful workplace connections. With a deep understanding of the nuances of employee relations, you have the natural ability to handle sensitive issues with care. You embrace a collaborative approach, working seamlessly across teams and bringing your knowledge and insights to achieve positive outcomes for all involved.
