About the Employment team

Our Employment group sits within our Disputes and Investigations practice and advises Australian and multinational companies, government bodies and senior executives on a variety of matters.

We act across all courts and tribunals that hear employment-related matters, including the Fair Work Commission, Supreme Courts, Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, and the Federal Court of Australia. Our experience includes significant matters under the Fair Work Act, breach of contract claims, and urgent applications such as freezing and Anton Piller orders in cases involving employee fraud, serious misconduct and breaches of post-employment restraints.

About the role

We are looking for an Employment lawyer to join our Sydney or Melbourne office. You will work closely with partners Dianne Banks and Tom Brett and advise on a broad range of matters, including:

  • Employment litigation across the Fair Work Commission, tribunals and courts
  • Workplace investigations and whistleblower matters
  • Employment aspects of mergers and acquisitions
  • Employment contracts, policies and industrial relations matters
  • Workplace change, performance management and termination matters
  • Workplace health and safety investigations and prosecutions

About you

You enjoy working on a mix of complex employment matters and have experience managing both advisory and litigation work across a range of issues.

You will bring:

  • Three or more years’ post-qualification experience in employment or workplace law, including advisory and litigation experience
  • Ability to write clear and effective advice
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to make well-reasoned decisions
  • The ability to build effective client relationships
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
