Job Description

Who will you be working with?

You’ll be joining our Inspection Technologies team—an expert group now part of Wabtec—bringing together deep knowledge in non-destructive testing, remote visual inspection, and analytical instruments. As part of this team, you’ll collaborate with engineers, product specialists and customer-facing sales professionals across Australia, to deliver cutting-edge inspection solutions for industries including rail, energy, and aerospace.

 

How will you make a difference?

Reporting to the Exec Dir, Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance, the QARA Engineer you will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance of the Global Integrated Management System (IMS) with specific emphasis on the Australia IMS.  In addition, this position would provide regulatory support for the Analytical Instrumentation (ANI), Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Remote Visual Inspection (RVI), product lines in the region.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Manage customer complaint handling processes for ANI/NDT/RVI products.

  • Maintain ISO certifications and ensure compliance across the country.

  • Review product labeling and literature for regulatory approval prior to release.

  • Oversee EMEA product and X-ray registrations for ANI/NDT/RVI lines.

  • Collaborate with manufacturers on product registration, quality issues, and compliance matters.

  • Develop, update, and author SOPs to support operational standards.

  • Contribute to the Integrated Management System (IMS) for process and quality improvements.

  • Conduct internal compliance audits, prepare reports, and track corrective actions.

  • Provide periodic reporting on group activities and support QA/RA teams in the region

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.

 

What do we want to know about you?

  • BS or equivalent (technical field desired) Science/Engineering background

  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 (ISO 14001 ISO 45001 a plus)

  • Familiarity with dealing with regulatory authorities and/or processes.      

  • Previous work in a medium to large organization dealing with regulated industrial products    

  • Experienced in Corrective Action/Root Cause processes

  • More than 3 years of experience in quality assurance, regulatory affairs, or compliance.

  • Strong understanding of ISO standards and audit processes.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across regions and teams.

  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

  • This position may require some international travel.
