  • Define and own the strategic roadmap for our data platform (BigQuery, Airflow, dbt, Dataflow), ensuring scalability, reliability and cost-effectiveness against agreed KPIs (availability, accuracy, latency, spend).
  • Practise best-practice software engineering (CI/CD, IaC, code reviews, testing, observability) to drive high quality and sustainable delivery across the team.
  • Establish and enforce robust data governance, security and privacy frameworks to meet regulatory and internal compliance standards.
  • Support Analytics Engineers to build out data models to build out metrics for product performance

To help us level up, you'll ideally have these skills & experience:

  • Proven experience in leading or managing a data engineering team in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Extensive, hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift) and data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow).
  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL and strong coding skills in Python, with a track record of delivering reliable and scalable data solutions.
  • B.S. or M.S. in CS or a related STEM field
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in data engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management capacity.

  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a team of technical experts.
  • A strategic mindset, with the ability to align data initiatives with broader business goals and effectively manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a deep sense of ownership, from technical architecture to team performance
  • A passion for staying current with new practices and technologies in the data engineering field and empowering your team to do the same.
  • You are self-motivated, reliable, and able to drive projects to completion in a fast-paced environment.
