Where and how you can work:
Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you.
What you'd be doing in this role:
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
At Canva, Engineering Managers play a crucial role in shaping the future of our platform and ensuring our engineering teams operate at their highest potential. By striking a fine balance between technical leadership, project delivery, and people management, they enable their teams to contribute significantly to Canva's vision and strategy.
You'll be involved in:

  • Engineering Leader within the B2B Growth, coaching six engineers and providing leadership in managing and guiding technical discussions.
  • Attending stakeholder meetings with marketing strategists and leadership to advocate for the Engineering perspective and capture engineering requirements.
  • Working collaboratively with group leadership, product managers, and engineers across Marketing and Product to scope and deliver solutions to empower internal teams
  • Leading the creation of technical design documents for cross-group & cross-team initiatives and contributing to engineering timelines and sprint planning.
  • Designing, developing, and deploying solutions with hands-on software development, while effectively communicating with Program Managers, Product Manager and Engineers.
  • Taking initiative in achieving goals, improving processes, and identifying opportunities for cross-team collaboration to work on new ideas and improvements.


You're probably a match if:

  • With a background in both technical and people leadership, have honed skills in overseeing high-performing teams of up to 6 members.
  • Experience working and building for Marketing Campaigns specifically for B2B and Enterprise.
  • Coding proficiency on par with a experienced software engineer, with a particular focus towards front-end and full-stack development - having worked extensively in NodeJS and React, with a generalist understanding of Java, protocol buffers, cloud Infrastructure (including AWS) and observability and reliability practices.
  • Articulate with a strong background in writing, presenting, and communicating with stakeholders from various technical backgrounds and vernaculars.


About the team:
The Experience sub-group's mission is to "Our mission is...To connect Canva to every user with engaging and effective digital experiences". Experience sub-group designs and builds digital experiences to support goals and strategies across Marketing.
The B2B Experience Team mission is to connect Canva to every B2B user through compelling digital experiences, continuously optimising these interactions to drive ARR growth. This high-performing engineering team is responsible for marketing landing pages-including pricing, contact sales, and B2B subscription pages (such as Teams or Enterprise). These pages are highly customised and feature complex interactions with various components of the product tech stack, managed by other product teams.
This places our team at the forefront of many of the company's highest-priority projects that span across multiple supergroups. It also offers a fantastic opportunity for innovation, allowing us to pioneer future capabilities for landing pages across Canva. As a result, our team regularly engages in unique, intriguing projects, leading the way forward within the group.
