About the role  
  

We’re seeking an Enterprise Data Architect  that will play a key role in defining the data strategy for Transurban, with a strong focus to enhance the value and re-usability of enterprise data, through modern data management frameworks.

You’ll join an innovative team that is responsible for ensuring that enterprise data architecture enables enterprise strategic goals and objectives.

As our Enterprise Data Architect, you’ll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. It’s meaningful, challenging and exciting work.

Day-to-day, you will:  

  • Optimisation of standardised and efficient data integration solutions

  • Bring thought leadership to help the organisation adopt an AI-driven mindset

  • Provide technical leadership, management and governance of technology selection and implementation

  • Develop and maintain the enterprise data models that define how data will be stored, processed and accessed

  • Implementing security measures to safeguard sensitive data

  • Define and govern master data to provide a single consistent view

  • Develop data frameworks to easily manage publishing, storing and processing of data

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:  

  • Extensive prior experience in a Technology Architecture practice addressing the establishment and maintenance of Data Architecture

  • Deep architectural experience in Information and Data architecture and the applications of Warehousing and Analytics software to develop insights and opportunities (e.g. customer profitability, propensity to buy, propensity to default, etc.)

  • Demonstrated experience in data platform technology stacks such as Synapse. Data Bricks, Snowflake

  • Enterprise scale technical experience with cloud and hybrid platforms

  • Experience in advanced analytics using data analysis tools such as Tableau.

  • Knowledge of big data technologies, including Snowflake, Redshift

  • Knowledge of AI with ability to infuse key analytics and AI technologies.

  • Implemented real-time architectures to expose data-pipelines to user-facing applications such as API.

  • Experience in event streaming platforms like Kafka to handle large data volumes.

  • Knowledge of advanced analytical tools with understanding of ML framework

  • Commercial acumen, ability to understand, develop and articulate the business value to be derived from technological advancement

  • Strong understanding of technology industry trends, the business and technology strategy influences on the Enterprise Architecture and development of future roadmaps
