The Opportunity

As our Events and Office Assistant, you'll keep things running smoothly behind the scenes during our busiest stretch of the year. You'll handle the practical, hands-on tasks that help our conferences, trade shows and in-person events run smoothly, plus help out around our Sydney office.

This is a casual role, ideal for students, recent graduates or anyone looking for steady part-time hours over winter. You'll work 16 hours a week from our Sydney office in Ultimo (one full day plus two half days, flexible on which days suit you), running from May to August 2026.

The focus here is the technical and logistical side of running great events: setting up systems, prepping materials, keeping data clean and making sure the team has everything they need on the day. It's support work at its core, ideal for someone who enjoys the satisfaction of a well-run operation.

What You'll Do

  • Pack, unpack and prep conference kits and event materials.
  • Handle data entry and admin tasks to support upcoming events.
  • Keep project trackers and event records tidy so the team always knows where things stand.
  • Lend a hand at Sydney events and around the office when needed.

What You'll Bring to This Role

  • A sharp eye for detail and satisfaction in getting the small things right.
  • Strong organisation, with the ability to juggle multiple small tasks at once.
  • A reliable, can-do attitude and willingness to muck in with hands-on, physical tasks.
  • Confidence picking up new tools quickly; full training provided on our internal systems.
  • Availability across one full day and two half days each week, in our Sydney office.

How to apply

We’d like to understand who you are, your values and your professional journey. Please apply with your resume, a link to your portfolio and any insights you’d like to share.

We embrace diversity. Bringing together a variety of thoughts, backgrounds, and expressions is key to creating outstanding products and teams. We value many different skills and perspectives and how they can enhance Atomi and our culture. So, please apply even if you don’t meet every requirement listed.
A note on AI in our hiring process
We use AI like any good tool: to work more clearly and efficiently. It helps us think, challenge our assumptions and prepare, but every hiring decision is made by a person, not an algorithm.

What you need to know about the Sydney Tech Scene

From opera to comedy shows, the Sydney Opera House hosts more than 1,600 performances a year, yet its entertainment sector isn't the only one taking center stage. The city's tech sector has earned a reputation as one of the fastest-growing in the region. More specifically, its IT sector stands out as the country's third-largest, growing at twice the rate of overall employment in the past decade as businesses continue to digitize their operations to stay competitive.
