Head of Portfolio Implementation (IPL)

We’re seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Portfolio Implementation to lead the effective and compliant implementation of investor portfolios across Evidentia’s entire suite of Managed Discretionary Account (MDA) and Wholesale Discretionary Account (WDA) services. This senior role requires a deep understanding of portfolio implementation, platform operations, and investment management, with a focus on driving operational excellence, system enhancements, and team leadership.

About Evidentia

Evidentia Group is the result of a merger between Evidentia, Lonsec Investment Solutions, and Implemented Portfolios - three leaders in managed accounts. Together, we offer innovative investment solutions tailored to financial advisers and their clients, combining institutional expertise with adviser-led insights.

About the Role

As Head of Portfolio Implementation (IPL), you will oversee the end-to-end implementation of all investor portfolios within our MDA and WDA services. You will provide functional leadership to the Portfolio Implementation team, drive strategic initiatives, and act as the subject matter expert in portfolio execution, systems, and processes.

This role is critical in ensuring our services operate efficiently, compliantly, and in line with the expectations of advisers, model managers, and investors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all functions involved in portfolio implementation and execution across MDA and WDA services, ensuring compliance with risk parameters, model instructions, and individual investor requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external model managers, key stakeholders, service providers, and technology partners.
  • Drive strategic projects to support business goals and represent the portfolio management function across the organisation.
  • Provide functional leadership of the portfolio implementation team, including staff management, cross-role coverage, and process documentation and improvement.
  • Support technical sales and provide expert guidance on IMA capabilities across our public model offerings and prospective external managers.
  • Lead the development of new processes and system enhancements to improve service delivery, reduce risk, and optimise operational efficiency.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for portfolio implementation, contributing to product development and continuous improvement of IMA services.

About You

  • 8-10+ years’ experience in financial services, ideally within investment management.
  • Strong investment product knowledge across the full trade lifecycle for listed and unlisted assets, including liquid and illiquid portfolio implementation.
  • Deep understanding of buy-side and sell-side execution processes and systems (e.g., SS&C GWP, IRESS, OMS/EMS platforms).
  • Proven ability to lead projects, engage stakeholders, and drive change within advice businesses.
  • Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Experience in licensee, wealth management consultancy, or platform provider environments.
  • Familiarity with managed account structures, platform operations, and compliance frameworks, including MDA and WDA regulation.
  • Ability to work autonomously while leading a high-performing team and driving continuous improvement.

Evidentia is an equal opportunity employer, committed to building an inclusive environment for all employees. We encourage applications from people underrepresented in Financial Services.

Working Rights – You must hold current permanent and full-time working rights in Australia (e.g., Citizen or Permanent Resident).
