About the role

As the Executive Assistant to the General Counsel, you are a key part of Gilbert + Tobin’s compliance, legal and risk function. Operating in a fast-paced and agile environment, due to growth, this role is varied and will see you:

  • Assist with legal, risk and compliance issues that affect the firm
  • Assist with the internal conflict clearing process and the resolution of any identified conflicts
  • Manage the establishment and maintenance of Information Barriers, collaborating with in-house lawyers and other stakeholders as needed
  • Assist with the firm’s securities trading clearance process
  • Provide training on policies and procedures
  • Monitor and update multiple firm registers
  • Support on a variety of risk and compliance issues and key projects and initiatives
  • Provide support to the General Counsel and assist with ad hoc admin duties as and when required.

About you
We’re looking for someone who is keen to learn and to be involved in a broad range of activities and tasks and who is a great team player.

In addition, you will have:

  • Previous administration experience, within a legal environment or in professional services is preferred
  • A very high level of attention to detail and strong communication and project management skills
  • Strong computer literacy with the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • A passion for process improvement
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration and team working skills
  • A strong client service ethic and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders
  • The ability to manage confidential information with discretion
  • The ability to work autonomously, manage multiple tasks and stakeholders with the confidence to ask for assistance when needed.
