About us:

Established in 2007, CDC Data Centres is Australia’s leading operator of sovereign, secure, world-class data centre facilities.

Headquartered in Canberra with multiple facilities in the ACT, NSW, VIC and New Zealand, CDC’s diversified operations provide secure data centre configurations that support co-location, containerised and hyperscale compute environments with all campuses interconnected with high-speed carrier grade networks.

At CDC we are passionate about creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity. Our mission is to attract, retain and grow the world’s best data centre team.

Our people are committed, tenacious and meticulous in supporting our customers. Together, we configure the landscape to meet the security, reliability, connectivity and sustainability needs for today and tomorrow.

About the role:

As the Executive Assistant to our Chief Operations Officer, you'll play a pivotal role at the heart of one of CDC's most critical and fast-paced teams. Working closely with an exceptionally talented and highly respected COO, you'll help drive alignment, coordination and operational excellence across a growing national team, ensuring the business stays connected, organised and moving forward. This is far more than a traditional Executive Assistant role. Beyond providing high-level executive support, you'll be a trusted partner to the COO, gaining unique exposure to strategic decision-making, operational leadership and the inner workings of Australia's leading sovereign data centre provider. From coordinating key projects and leadership initiatives to supporting events, travel, reporting and team effectiveness, you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact across the business every day.

You’ll be a trusted go-to person who helps bring structure, forward planning and momentum to a fast-moving, technical environment. You’ll support a broad mix of stakeholders, from senior leaders through to highly technical and site-based teams, so your ability to build genuine relationships will be key. This role would suit someone who enjoys being proactive, visible and hands-on; someone who is curious about how the business works, keen to learn the data centre environment, and excited by the opportunity to grow with the role over time.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Provide high-level administrative and executive support to the COO, including calendar management, meeting coordination, travel arrangements and expense management.
  • Coordinate and prepare board reports, operational reports, leadership updates and town hall presentations with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Support meeting rhythms across the Operations function, including agenda preparation, minute taking, action tracking and follow-up.
  • Act as a key coordination point for the wider Operations team, helping ensure priorities, communications and activities remain organised and on track.
  • Support office management, team coordination, events, site activities and wider employee engagement initiatives across key locations.
  • Coordinate travel, logistics and general support for the COO and broader Operations team as required.
  • Consolidate information and prepare briefings for leadership meetings, reporting cycles and key business updates.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Operations to support reporting, communication, coordination and general team effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce administrative burden and create better ways of working.

You’ll be someone who enjoys being at the centre of a busy team, bringing structure, calm and momentum to the people around you. You’ll be highly organised, proactive and confident supporting senior leaders, while also being approachable, adaptable and easy to build trust with across a broad mix of stakeholders. This role would suit someone who is naturally curious, enjoys learning how a business works, and is comfortable working in a hands-on environment where no two days look the same. You may come from an Executive Assistant, Business Support, Operations Coordinator, Office Manager or similar background. Success in this role will come from your ability to think ahead, communicate with confidence, build strong relationships and lean into a role that combines executive support with broader operational coordination.

  • Proven experience in an Executive Assistant, Business Support, Operations Coordinator, Office Manager or similar role.
  • Experience supporting senior leaders, with the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain confidentiality and stay organised in a fast-paced environment.
  • A confident and professional communication style, with the ability to build strong relationships across executive, technical, operational and site-based teams.
