A fantastic opportunity has presented itself for a fixed term contract until March 2027 for an Executive Manager, Financial Control & Accounting Services reporting to the General Manager Financial Control and Enterprise Partnering.
A bit about your role
As the Executive Manager, Financial Control & Accounting Services, you will lead the delivery of nbn’s financial control and accounting functions, setting a clear vision and translating strategy into action. You will create an inclusive and high‑performing team culture that reflects nbn’s values, while driving operational excellence and transformation across the finance function.
In this role, you will be accountable for establishing best‑practice processes, systems, and governance to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. You will oversee general ledger management, month‑end processes, reconciliations, and financial statements, with a specific focus on Revenue and Operational Expense Accounting. You will manage resources across nbn and outsourced partners, maintain strong relationships with internal and external audit, and champion innovation through automation and modernisation initiatives, including the use of AI.
A bit about you
The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant (CA or CPA) with extensive experience leading financial control and accounting functions within large, complex organisations. You will have proven leadership experience managing large, diverse teams both onshore and offshore, and a strong track record in delivering business‑critical outcomes under time‑constrained conditions.
You will bring technical expertise in system enhancements, data management and process improvement. Your understanding of Australian Accounting Standards will be complemented by advanced analytical, problem‑solving, and influencing skills.
You are a collaborative and inclusive leader who thrives on guiding teams through change. Your ability to navigate complexity, build trust, and apply innovative thinking will ensure finance processes are simplified, governance is strengthened, and lasting value is created for nbn.
