Build your career and Australia’s future.

Not many people can say they are working on building Australia’s future. With us you’ll be doing just that, leaving a legacy for all Australians. Plus, there’s equal employment, great training, and true flexible working arrangements.

We have an exciting opportunity at nbn for an Executive Manager Privacy. This role will report to the Executive General Manager Risk, Privacy, Compliance and Customer Contracting.

A bit about your role

As Executive Manager Privacy, you will lead the development and delivery of nbn’s enterprise-wide privacy strategy. Your work will ensure the organisation meets its regulatory obligations, manages privacy risks effectively, and fosters a strong culture of privacy across all levels. You will shape the executive narrative around privacy, enabling informed decision-making and supporting the business through complex and evolving regulatory environments.

This role is responsible for building trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, regulators and industry partners. You will oversee reporting to senior governance forums, including the Audit & Risk Committee, Executive Committee and Board, and manage the privacy budget and resources to deliver measurable outcomes. Also, you will lead a team of privacy specialists, guiding the design and implementation of the privacy program in alignment with nbn’s three lines of defence model.

A bit about you

The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in privacy, compliance or risk, with experience leading enterprise-wide programs in complex environments. You have a strong understanding of Australian and international privacy laws and a proven ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical, business-aligned solutions.

Your leadership style is collaborative and empowering. You are skilled at building high-performing teams and influencing senior stakeholders to drive alignment and action. You are confident navigating ambiguity and can anticipate emerging risks in a fast-changing digital and regulatory landscape.
