The Role:

Based in Sydney, the EM of Strategic Partnerships will lead and manage key strategic relationships with two of AP+'s largest members.

Day to day, your core responsibilities include:

  • Driving growth in transactions and revenue with key members over the medium to long term.
  • Overseeing and expanding the strategic commercial relationships with AP+'s key members in a coordinated manner, aligning with their business objectives and contributing to AP+'s overall goals.
  • Collaborating with member stakeholders to understand their strategies, priorities, and customer needs, fostering deeper strategic alignment and uncovering new opportunities.
  • Creating compelling propositions for AP+ products to increase adoption.
  • Leading negotiations, deal-making, and RFP responses that satisfy both AP+ and customer requirements.
  • Managing and deploying AP+ rebates to ensure alignment with product offerings and capabilities.
  • Developing comprehensive strategic account plans for key members, using CRM systems to maintain a holistic view.
  • Leading and mentoring Account Manager(s), providing guidance and strategic direction, while supporting the broader Member team as part of the Member Leadership team.
  • Assisting the GM of Member Engagement in setting goals, metrics, and reporting to monitor and drive the performance of members within the portfolio.
  • Supporting the broader member team and initiatives beyond the managed accounts.
  • As a senior leader, driving organizational change to support both the members and the overall success of AP+.

Proposed Position Requirements are:

  • Proven experience working within or alongside complex financial services organisations, successfully navigating internal processes and delivering successful outcomes.
  • Payments experience within a financial institution in areas such as Issuing, Acquiring, or Business Payments.
  • In-depth knowledge of payments systems and their application within financial institutions, banks, and Australian businesses.
  • Proficient in consultative selling, product management, and working with highly numeric data.
  • Ability to effectively package and present products, delivering compelling sales presentations to drive strategic alignment.
  • Expertise in building and nurturing executive-level relationships and in developing and refining strategic account plans.
  • Experience in structuring and negotiating commercial deals.
  • Proven track record leading cross-functional teams while working with complex, large enterprises.
  • Demonstrated success in negotiating complex deals with large financial institutions to establish mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Strong ability to develop and empower high-performing teams.
  • Expertise in managing escalations and influencing internal teams to achieve desired outcomes.
