The Role

Fisher & Paykel is an iconic New Zealand brand, a global company with a strong local heritage. Our origins inspire our culture of curiosity and passion to develop solutions designed around people - these are some of the core elements that make us unique.

We are driven by our values of being trusted, sustainably minded, innovative, generous and curious. As a team we take a collaborative approach and have a working environment where all ideas are heard, evaluated, and tested against our leading goal - to be the world's most human-centred appliance brand.

We are currently recruiting for a Design Consultant who will be based in our Experience Centre in Alexandria, Sydney. The Experience Centre is a specially designed and curated space, providing access to a selection of signature products and beautiful display areas showcasing appliances as they would appear in the home, along with interactive digital displays and resident cooking specialist. This is a truly premium experience, centered around our premium range of products.

Rostered weekend work, along with occasional evenings are required for this role.

This opportunity will be influential, providing premium expertise to our Sydney kitchen/interior design, architectural and builder community. In this role you will be a trusted advisory; collaborating and consulting on live projects to help specify the best kitchen design outcomes for the end user and our commercial partners.

This is where you come in:

You'll be responsible for networking and building relationships with key players within the design community and supporting our specifier clients with your design industry knowledge and product expertise. You'll understand and implement best practice for value selling to target specifiers, often being the first impression and face of our brand to potential new business partners. Being able to confidently articulate and role model our values and design philosophy is paramount, and we will support you on this journey. Your input into projects and appliance selection will continue to build awareness, reappraisal and credibility of our brand, and the unparalleled design freedom and beauty of choice that we offer.

We need someone who can connect with our wider design audience. Your tenacity, empathy and lateral thinking coupled with your exceptional commitment to service will see you successfully support and provide commercially beneficial solutions at every step of the process. This is a unique role, where you'll become a brand ambassador based at the Sydney Experience Centre, primarily hosting clients on tours through brand storytelling and product insights, supporting chef-led culinary experiences, special events, producing project product specifications, and supporting venue operations and logistics.

You will also connect with vendors, numerous other stakeholders in the business, and undertake networking opportunities to grow specifiers product knowledge and general awareness of our brand. Plus, as a Design Consultant, you will help execute case studies through marketing content in conjunction with our Australian and Global Marketing teams.

So who are you?

You'll be a relationship orientated professional who is passionate about design, ideally having strong networks with Sydney architects and interior designers and have proven experience in brand building and successfully developing strategic partnerships to deliver quality results. You may have either Marketing, Sales, Architecture or Interior Design experience with other premium brands, but what's important is that you are a team player and great communicator comfortable presenting to groups, with an appetite for learning, an eye for detail and strong commercial acumen.

You take action fast and have no issue courageously and respectfully challenging when needed.  You are an industry expert with the experience in executing integrated marketing and sales and client experience strategies, to attract, engage and convert clients. We care that you have the enthusiasm, drive and a genuine thirst for success, as well as an awareness and understanding of how brand building and business to business collaborations drive commercial success in the luxury property sector.

What we offer

We can give you the rare opportunity to move into a large, dynamic global organisation headquartered in NZ with Australian Headquarters at Macquarie Park in Sydney.

Along with a competitive salary, flexible working, ongoing development and excellent growth and progression opportunities, as a valued member of our team you’ll enjoy generous discounts on Fisher & Paykel and Haier products.

Coupled with great leadership and backed by a world leading heritage brand.
