Company Description

Nine is Australia’s largest locally owned media company. Working at Nine, you’ll have access to a unique range of experiences and opportunities, helping drive the success of the country’s most trusted television, radio, digital and publishing brands.

Our content reaches almost every Australian - meaning what we do has real impact. We bring people together, celebrate the big moments, and capture the everyday ones.

Some of our most beloved brands have been part of Australian life for generations, and others - new on the scene - have already found their place firmly in our lives. We’re evolving and we need people like you to bring new ideas, innovate and make your mark.

Job Description

The Food & Lifestyle Events team acts as the experiential extension of Nine’s iconic publishing brands, including Good Food, Sunday Life, Pedestrian, Drive, The Sydney Morning Herald, and The Age. We partner with commercial brands, government bodies, and cultural institutions to deliver high-impact experiences that seamlessly combine editorial integrity with deep audience insight.

As a senior, embedded curator at Nine, you will sit at the intersection of sales and delivery to shape bold, distinctive experiential concepts that bring Australia’s most trusted masthead brands to life. You will balance blue-sky imaginative thinking with real-world judgement, ensuring every pitch is creatively ambitious, commercially sound, and flawlessly executable. This is a high-impact, 12-month contract role for a creative strategist who understands how to translate cultural insights into unforgettable physical experiences.

Day to day you will:

  • Lead the creative response to incoming briefs, translating brand challenges and KPIs into distinctive experiential concepts
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Editorial, and Marketing teams to craft compelling pitch strategies and professional presentation decks.
  • Interpret audience and cultural insights to ensure ideas are relevant, differentiated and on-brand.
  • Curate and recommend talent (chefs, artists, cultural figures, partners) that strengthen the creative narrative and commercial appeal.
  • Source and recommend venues using a place-making lens to ensure locations enhance the overall storytelling and brand standards of the event.
  • Sense-check creative ideas early against production realities, budgets, and timelines to ensure seamless handover to the production team.
  • Manage multiple briefs simultaneously, often under tight timeframes.
  • Act as a senior creative partner, managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and detail.

Qualifications

What you'll bring:

  • Significant experience in experiential marketing, event curation or brand-led live experiences.
  • Proven ability to develop original, strategically aligned concepts, showcasing strong creative judgment to elevate ideas.
  • Exceptional project management skills, including a deep understanding of budget creation and production logistics.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate with and manage relationships across talent, vendors, and high-level commercial clients.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with confidence to articulate a creative vision persuasively through professional proposals.
  • Solid understanding of the publishing, food, and lifestyle industries, including current market trends and audience insights.
  • An existing industry network (chefs, experts, venue partners) combined with experience delivering  commercial sponsorships.
  • The ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, responding calmly to shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
