About Peppermayo

Started by two young founders in 2012, this ecommerce company has grown into its own. Expanding the Peppermayo brand voice with its exclusive range, found only at peppermayo.com, things are just getting started. We’re looking for a Designer to join our Peppermayo family who is a creative minded and technical Designer that will become an integral part of the team. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about designing, loves working collaboratively, understands our brand aesthetic and wants to continue our growth trajectory.

Responsibilities & Skills

  • Designing multiple future collections simultaneously, that are both cohesive and on-brand
  • Creating computer-aided designs via Illustrator (CADs)Creating mood & inspiration boards for collections via photoshop/illustrator
  • Creating unique designs, prints and patterns on photoshop/illustrator
  • Working closely with the Design Team and Team Lead on executing a trend calendar
  • Working collaboratively with the buying team on developing product for long lead and short lead collections, as well as comping on previous best-sellers
  • Demonstrating the ability to act quickly on key sales drivers, implementing ‘move on’ styles that continue to build on sales momentum
  • Managing the fit process in collaboration with the Team Lead
  • Working collaboratively with the Garment Technician on all facets of the design process, including product changes, to achieve the best garment fit results
  • Creating tech packs on excel with key style information and production notes for suppliers with clear directions, to allow for minimal sampling
  • Following through the design cycle, actioning on issues that arise within recent deliveries
  • Updating the design details in the critical path including style information, fabric composition and CAD updates
  • Identifying current design trends and fabric techniques
  • Ensuring product quality and consistency Trend research and forecasting 
  • Understanding & focusing on the Peppermayo customer and their needs in all areas of execution


Requirements
  • Someone with 2+ years of design experience at a fashion label
  • A multitasker who is time efficient and can work within deadlines
  • Someone familiar with grading rules suitable for different styles and fabrics is desirable
  • A team player who is effortless to work with & a guru at communicating
  • Highly skilled at technical drawings and cads
  • Highly skilled in adobe illustrator
  • Proficient skills to work with excel, google drive
