What you will be doing

  • Understand business trajectory, sales pipeline and backlog to produce a weighted forecast for the Public Sector Industry on a monthly basis in conjunction with the business.
  • Articulate risks & opportunities to forecast and drive business teams to ensure risks are mitigated and opportunities are materialized.
  • You will be responsible for monthly financial reporting deliverables including the summary of key drivers of actuals vs forecast/budget for executive management, partnering with the business, FP&A and other key Finance stakeholders
  • Provide quality inputs to FP&A in a timely manner to support consolidation of monthly forecasting numbers and close processes and to any other ad hoc requests
  • Lead margin improvement initiatives alongside business/deliver teams
  • Exercise cost control activities across business
  • Develop analytics to highlight problem areas and opportunities for improvement within business and devise action plans to drive improvement
  • Review and analyse Free Cash Flow on a monthly basis driving areas for improvement
  • Proactively identify and implement areas for process improvement
  • Ensure all US GAAP principles are followed in reporting performance.

  • Collaborate with and support the pricing team with historic data and insights for deal propositions including detail on the budget assumptions at the account or business unit level
  • Ensure we are signing the right deals, at the right margins and financial metrics to deliver on budget targets
  • Drive close alignment with the sales team to ensure early deal engagement in order to ensure optimal commercial outcomes

The skills you will bring

Your experience will include:

  • A track record of success in a similar role with a preference of experience in a large services business and/or experience with Public Sector Clients
  • Degree qualified in Finance with a CPA/CA
  • Proven skills in the management of teams, including virtual teams
  • Strong skills in forecasting, risk mitigation and achievement of financial goals.
  • You must be able to build strong relationships within the business and help them to achieve their goals.

You MUST be an Australian citizen eligible to hold a clearance at the required level.

Canberra is the preferred location but you can work from any location in Australia.
