The role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Operations Accountant to join our Group Finance team within a 16-month fixed-term contract.
This position is focused on managing and enhancing performance within the finance team for the HUB24 Group. Collaborating with various HUB24 business divisions, the role aims to drive Group profitability and provide analytical support to ensure well-considered risk/reward decisions are made.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare monthly fee runs, process payments, and invoice dealer groups.
- Calculate and apply indexed fees on a quarterly basis.
- Calculate and process managed fund rebates as per agreements on a quarterly basis.
- Process fee changes based on adviser requests.
- Manage ad-hoc or special deals with advisers.
- Configure new fee structures for dealer groups in the fee module.
- Handle all external and internal fee queries.
- Manage new fee module testing.
- Prepare monthly invoice mapping and upload to the accounting system.
- Assist with interim and year-end external audits, monthly revenue reconciliations, AR invoice process, and AR reconciliations.
Key skills required
- 3-5 years of experience in fee processing or Finance Operations with the Financial Services industry.
- Tertiary qualification in Tax/Law/Commerce/Economics/Finance or related field.
- Experience handling a large volume of reconciliations (Balance sheet and Profit & Loss)
- Possess strong Excel skills (modelling, data visualisation, Macros, V look up, Pivot Tables) and handle a large volume of data.
- Understanding of AFSL pricing structures (Fixed charges, Variable (%) based charges, Tiered charges including Fee Caps, Special deals)
- Experience managing client service (particularly adviser queries) which involves understanding of the revenue processing function performed by an AFSL
- Understanding of various revenue types (Administration Fees, Platform fees, RITC claims).
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative team but also work autonomously
- Strong attention to detail
