Reporting to the AMD-XLX Business Unit Manager, you will be expected to support the demand creation requirements of Avnet's key supplier – AMD/Xilinx.
As a dedicated AMD/Xilinx Field Applications Engineer, the chosen candidate will be responsible for accelerating the adoption of AMD/Xilinx – Adaptive Computing including RFSOC, MPSoC and Versal. The FAE will work closely with Avnet Design Engineering to help architect a total engineering solution around AMD/Xilinx. You will be working closely with defense and various market segments to support customers to help conceptualize and architect the best mix of HW and SW solutions for their system.
The position also includes delivering technical presentations around those solutions, and demonstrating AMD/Xilinx technology.
An abundant level of training will be provided locally, interstate and overseas to continually keep your skills to the highest level.
Principal Responsibilities:
Responsible for conceptualization, architecture, and optimization of customer design requirements into AMD/Xilinx solutions, and translating this effort into an architectural proposal.
Create example designs with both SW / FPGA firmware.
Electrical Fault Isolation and RMA handling on failed electronics board.
Schematic and Layout capture/review.
Face to Face Training for customers.
Work Experience & Skills:
Bachelor or Masters in Electronic Engineering.
5+ years up industry experience in FPGA, HW or Embedded design.
Hands on in VHDL/Verilog HDL is a must, C/C++, Tcl languages is good to have.
Hands on experience with Vivado/Vitis Tool flow
Schematic and Layout design experience is desirable.
Hardware or software development experience in Zynq MPSOC / RFSOC platform.
Design of various high speed serial interface, i.e. PCIe Gen 3, 10G Ethernet, etc.
Understanding DSP methodologies including MATLAB.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to rapidly establish rapport and credibility
Education and Certification(s):
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
