How will you make an impact?

This opening is for a Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) experienced and self-motivated individual to support Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Transplant Diagnostics (TDX) division as a Field Application Scientist. As a member of the Asia Pacific Commercial team, the candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary matrix team that includes technical support, regional sales representatives, marketing, product development scientists, and software engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert-level field applications support to customers across the Asia Pacific region.
  • Conduct on-site training sessions and workshops for customers to demonstrate the full potential of our products.
  • Prepare and present technical seminars to existing and new customers.
  • Conduct and participate actively in TDX’s annual initiatives and priorities through key activities that center around the facilitation of field-based product demonstrations, product training, and product troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to determine customer needs and drive product improvements.
  • Act as ‘Voice of Customer’ and provide valuable feedback to departments such as Technical Support, R&D, and Marketing.
  • Develop new applications applying Thermo Scientific TDX offerings, including building proficiency with new TDX product lines and software applications through self-learning, practical experience via travel to TDX headquarters, and through direct interaction with Sr. FAS colleagues, TDX R&D staff and/or Product Management in advance of product commercialization.
  • Represent Thermo Fisher Scientific by clearly and consistently demonstrating Thermo Fisher Scientific mission, vision, values and objectives to both our employees and end-user customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or greater, in the Biological or Chemical Sciences required.
  • At least 3 years of work experience in related field required. Preferred proven experience working in an HLA Laboratory or related HLA experience.
  • Candidate must reside within the designated territory, preferably within Australia.
  • Experience and knowledge of TDX’s Antibody Detection and/or Molecular Typing products is preferable.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Expectation to travel >60% of time within Australia and around the Asia Pacific region to support customer needs.
