Reporting to the Finance Manager - Retail and Sourcing, we are looking for a sharp, commercially-minded Finance Analyst - Commercial to join us for a 15 month contract (ending March 2027). This isn't just a "number crunching" role; you will be the financial partner for our Marketing and Beer/Cider teams, helping us grow, and win in the retail market.

As a Commercial Finance Analyst, you will bridge the gap between finance and strategy. You’ll be supporting the Merchandise and Marketing teams, providing the insights that drive our Beer and Cider portfolio forward.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • The role will perform commercial reporting and analysis requests associated with Beer/Cider portfolio, Marketing and other ad-hoc requests as required
  • Assessment of Beer/Cider portfolio performance through diagnostics on performance v plan & LY,  assessing both promotional effectiveness and buy side/sell side impacts on GP (incl FX and drivers internal transfer price changes)
  • Support in building the budget and forecast process across the Pinnacle Beer portfolio, highlighting key driver variances to business partners.
  • Support in building budgets for Marketing cost centre
  • Managing P&L against budget/targets and communicating opportunities to stakeholders
  • Business partner the Pinnacle marketing team to effectively allocate marketing & promotional investment
  • Business partner the Pinnacle Merchandise team and Business Development Managers (Beer/Cider) and support the development of strategic plans through to governance, measurement and realisation of strategic initiatives 
  • Support the development of business cases for the New Product Development process
  • Working closely with Pinnacle and Endeavour retail finance (commercial and marketing) teams to simply business processes, enhance insight and realise synergy
  • Support change across the business
  • Clear and effective communication across multiple groups of stakeholders
  • Work with department teams to ensure there is a consistent “way of working”

Qualifications

This 15-month contract role offers a unique opportunity to embed yourself in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You’ll gain exposure to the full lifecycle of a product from the initial business case to the moment it hits the shelf.

You are someone who looks beyond the spreadsheet to see the story behind the data. You enjoy building relationships as much as you enjoy building models.

The Essentials:

  • Education: Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Professional Status: CA/CPA qualified (or currently in progress).
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years in a similar commercial finance or analyst role.
  • Technical Savvy: Strong technical reporting skills with experience in SAP, ERP, and Business Objects.
  • Communication: The ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable advice for non-finance stakeholders.

Desirable:

  • Experience in GCP (Google Cloud Platform) and Tableau.
  • A background in Retail, FMCG, or the Liquor industry.
