Purpose of your role
This role is a key part of the Finance team responsible for providing financial reporting and insights for the business. The primary focus of this role is to partner with members of our executive team in the Technology and Product teams to provide financial support and to drive improvements in business performance. You will be responsible for preparing management reporting, providing business insights and managing the budgeting and forecasting process for your executive team members.
This role would suit a highly engaged individual with strong communication skills (written and verbal), a high level of commercial acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to critically assess information to provide valuable insights.
What you do
- Partner with members of the executive team to provide financial support through delivery of regular reporting and ad hoc analysis (Technology and Product)
- Manage the month end process for allocated departments including ensuring that financial results are accurate, and reports are released with commentary on performance against plan. Meet with the Executive team members for Technology and Product to take them through their results against budget and provide financial insights to drive improved performance and productivity
- Lead the forecasting and budgeting process for allocated executive team members and assist with the overall planning process as required
- Partner with the technology team to manage the CAPEX process ensuring the appropriate accounting treatment of capitalised resources and ensuring that the business remains within budget.
- Prepare intangible reporting note for statutory accounts and respond to all audit queries
- Prepare business cases to support investment in initiatives / growth opportunities and provide ROI trends for investments in CAPEX and OPEX
- Provide reporting of intangible costs and associated business benefits to allow visibility of returns on investments (including but not limited to the tech ops program)
- Identify and implement continuous improvements across finance processes including enhancing reporting capabilities, planning, and month end process
- An appropriate university degree from a recognized institution
- Minimum of 5 years professional experience in Finance related functions, Commercial Finance, Decision Support or FP&A
- Demonstrated capability in problem solving , modelling & attention to detail
- Commercial acumen and ability to communicate complex financial information in concise and practical way
- Proven ability to build relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders and influence with strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Track record of demonstrating the ability to make a difference in past roles and ability to identify, model and be a champion for growth
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work autonomously and within a cohesive team
- Ability to handle and prioritise multiple tasks
