You’ll lead with purpose, breaking down barriers to innovation in a more connected, compassionate world.As part of the Australia & New Zealand (ANZ) Region, the Medical Surgical (MS) portfolio is the largest in size, assisting over 2 million patients annually across more than 1,550 private and public hospitals. The successful candidate for the Finance Business Partner role in MS will take full ownership of all financial aspects of their dedicated Operating Units (OU). This role serves as the key business partner to the OU leadership team, working closely with accounting, pricing, enterprise accounts, and offshore support teams, to influence financial decisions. Reporting to the MS Finance Manager, this role will also oversee data and analytical financial activities in the MS Business Finance team, providing financial support and business analysis to drive financial results and improve operating performance.
This is a 12-18 months maternity leave cover role, with the possibility to evolve into a permanent position in the future.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
Commercial Partnership
Act as the primary financial contact for OU Leadership Team; providing timely, accurate and insightful financial information, translating financial data into actionable insights to guide business decisions.
Develop strategies and influence internal stakeholders to improve financial performances while responding to emerging issues, opportunities, and trends.
Create analytical models to evaluate various business scenarios and support strategic alignment.
Budgeting and Forecasting
Partner with OU commercial leaders to develop the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Rolling Forecast (RF), and Strategic Plan (SP) for the OU.
Lead the annual financial planning process and routine forecasting to ensure high-quality business planning across revenue, costs, expenses, FTE, inventory and CAPEX.
Own and present performance reports, budgets, and forecasts to key stakeholders, identifying and communicating risks and opportunities.
Support business case development and provide commercial evaluations for key initiatives.
Reporting and Analysis
Deliver accurate and clear financial results and financial comparisons at period end.
Understand OU performance, prepare and present monthly analysis, commentary, and forecasting, focusing on key drivers, performance metrics, risks, and opportunities to Finance Leadership and business partners.
Improve financial performance reporting and work with business teams to enhance forecasting accuracy.
Drive the implementation of business intelligence (BI) tools and software to analyse and explain business performances.
Coach and mentor junior members in the MS Business Finance team as necessary.
Complete other ad-hoc and/or standard reporting processes as necessary.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
Bachelors degree required in Finance or Accounting
Minimum 10 years of relevant experiences in Finance or Accounting
Experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)
Advanced excel and data modelling skills and knowledge
Experience with financial/reporting and planning systems (e.g., SAP, Hyperion/Essbase, Anaplan etc.), PowerBI and other data visualisations tools
Experience and/or available to operate within a complex organization and with various stakeholders.
Strong results orientation and bias for action, including a high degree of initiative and self-motivation in understanding business needs.
Strong analytical skills to be able to identify trends, patterns, and insights from data, and translate ideas and financial results into concise reports, visuals and insights.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong business acumen, with the ability to influence stakeholders across various levels of management and deliver value to the organization.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities and experience with cross-functional projects that require matrix collaboration, relationship-building, and influencing others.
Proactively seeks ways to improve and innovate.
Experience in MedTech or general healthcare industry.
Knowledge of SQL, R, Python or other coding languages.
This is a hybrid role, requiring 2 days onsite in our brand-new office located in Macquarie Park.
