 - Finance Business Partner - Retail Operations
 
We're looking for an experienced Finance Business Partner to be a key partner to the Retail Formats leadership team, optimising investment in improving the retail network. Acting as the commercial compass for the Store Operations State Leadership team across Western Australia, South Australia, and the Northern Territory for both our BWS and Dan Murphy’s retail banners.
This isn't just a reporting role, it's about leveraging your expertise to directly impact retail performance, profitability, and strategic investment across a dynamic network of stores.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:
You will be the vital link between finance and operations, driving data-informed decisions and strategic growth across the region. Your key areas of focus will include:
- Provide financial partnership to the State leadership teams, giving commercial recommendations that drive like-for-like sales growth, profitability, and operational excellence.
 - Conduct deep-dive analysis (category, channel, competitor) and produce insightful reporting to identify key performance drivers and recommend actions that improve store contribution and commercial outcomes.
 - Partner with leadership and format teams to assess and support network expansion opportunities and store format initiatives (renewals, productivity, sustainability), ensuring optimal return on investment for all property and format projects.
 - Responsible for the end-to-end financial compliance for Retail Operations, including robust month-end processes, accruals, accurate forecasting, and store budget management.
 - Proactively leading cross-functional activities and continually identifying and implementing process improvements to optimise ways of working.
 
Now let’s talk about you:
- 7+ years of progressive finance experience, preferably with CA/CPA qualification.
 - Proven experience within the Retail or FMCG sector, with a strong understanding of commercial and operational drivers.
 - A track record of effective business partnering and strong commercial acumen used to simplify complex finance concepts for senior executive audiences and drive growth and optimisation.
 - Advanced proficiency in financial systems (e.g., SAP, IBM, Excel) and exposure to translating digital/data insights into financial outcomes.
 - Exceptional time management, prioritisation skills, and the ability to produce simple, structured, accurate, and robust financial outputs.
