The Finance Manager - Data Driven Transformation will partner with the Advanced Analytics leadership team, broader data product areas and brand stakeholders and will oversee the financial performance of Advanced Analytics. This includes leading the financial performance management and forecasting activities that enable company decision-making, cost optimisation, investment prioritisation and strategic planning. The role will enable transparency and visibility to performance against the plan, including management of key risks & opportunities and use case benefits tracking.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role

  • Business partner with the Advanced Analytics Leadership team in conjunction with the Senior Finance Manager to provide financial and commercial insight, business case preparation, gain commitment to financial targets and constructively challenge the business.
  • Financial performance management: Monitor and report on performance of capital and operational expenditure. Provide insights that influence actions within the business to facilitate cost optimisation and prioritisation processes. 
  • Budgeting and forecasting: development of Advanced Analytics expenditure plans and forecasts, ensuring alignment to strategy and balancing short and long term business objectives. Identifies and evaluates the impact of events and operating activities on business performance
  • Introduce transparency & visibility of business performance including identifying risks and opportunities, plans for mitigating risks, rollout of new reporting and forecasting processes at initiative and brand level to enable partnering with Merchandise, Retail and Hotels finance as benefits into segment P&L’s accelerate
  • Performance insights and optimisation: Provide leadership and guidance on how to measure, analyse and optimise benefits from our digital AI investment program. 
  • Partner with key stakeholders on digital investment projects, including preparation of financial analysis / modelling, business case tracking, and ROI measurement
  • Financial Control for expenditure including review of capitalised v opex funded expenditure and process improvement
  • Support the creation and monitoring of KPIs - particularly in an agile delivery context (measuring economic value and business optimization)

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in financial management experience
  • Bachelor or higher university degree in relevant field re MBA, CA
  • Experience in working a large corporate or matrix organisation
  • Experience with benefits tracking and benefits methodology
  • Strong commercial acumen - able to translate business performance drivers into financial outcomes
  • Strong modelling and analytical skills
  • Experience partnering with business
  • Effective time management
  • Deals effectively with conflict
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in agile organisations/with agile technology teams (desirable)
  • Digital retail, media, Technology or financial services experience (desirable)
  • Experience in benefits tracking and methodology (desirable)
